Industrial Electrical Co

2.9

Industrial Electric Co. in Modesto provides repair and maintenance services for a range of industrial and recreational equipment, including generators. They focus on specialized repairs and may be a limited option for those seeking immediate service, often experiencing a considerable wait time. Their expertise centers around specific engine models.

While dedicated to certain brand repairs, their process sometimes involves extended troubleshooting and lack of readily available documentation of completed work. Customers seeking timely communication and complete transparency in repair procedures may find alternative service providers more aligned with their expectations, and consistent updates would improve the customer experience.

The worst experience I have ever had with a business. I brought in a Welder for repair in October, and just got it back in April after $8000 of repairs. They were terrible about contacting me to update on the status of the welder, ordered parts and performed work without my permission, and were not concerned with how long this "repair" put my employees out of work. When I picked up the unit, the service manager even had me sign the final sales order on a Little Caesars Pizza box. Now we have finally tried to use the welder for the first time, and it is still just as broken as when we brought it in. Multiple calls to the welding service office have not been returned. I will NEVER bring my equipment here or recommend anybody else do the same. UPDATE: after bringing our unit to another shop, a simple faulty ground was the problem. The second shop said that in all likelihood, the faulty ground was the cause of some of our original problems, and these parts did not need to be replaced. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of work done here. The technician and welder service manager here cost my company valuable time and money that I feel could have been avoided.

I can not recommend Industrial Electric to anyone that has a problem with their generator in a motor home. Our experience with them was very frustrating! We spent months trying to fine the problem , they said they checked the carburetor on the first trip and it worked properly. They claim to have changed the mother board what ever that is. They claimed to have changed the fuel pump. I say claimed because we received no proof that it was done. After months of wasted time they said we can't do anything more for you. So we had to look else where to solve the problem. Cummings West in Sacramento was recommend to us a week later they called to say it's the carburetor!! We no long have a problem.

Only business in Modesto that I could find to work on my Onan 4kw RV genset. Three weeeks backlog wait time. They were able to check it out early and said it needed a fuel pump. $900 to purchase and replace it. It still had original problem of continuous suging o0f engine speed. They then adjusted carburetor to get rid of surging. Original problem. Total 4 weeks and over $1200, I went in to pay and pick up my motorhome. After wandering over their parking lot and trying to find someone to help me, A receptionist got me to the right office. By that time, I was upset over their lack of customer service. I expressed my concwerns to the shop supervisor who told me that nothing would be done or change. I raised my voice and told her that their customer service was severely lacking. The supervicor told me to be quiet or go outside. I went outside and continued complaining. The supervisor came outside and told me that she would have me removed from the premises if I continued. I told her she should call the pol;ice to remove me. The supervisor told me that they had other people to remove me. I told her that she had better get them over there to drag me away. I gave my credit card to a clerk and she processed the payment and returned my keys. Nobody offered to cross the street to where my MH was parked. I am 82 years old with an iron brace on my left leg, hard to cross a well traveled street. Industrial Electric is the only RV genset repair service that I know of in Modesto. I will not recommend them because of the way I was treated. It was terrible. I will travel to Stockton, Sacramento or Fresno before I ever go to them again.

Took my RV here to have them look at the Generator. I had just done an oil change and spark plug about 3 days before bringing it here. They charged me 190$ to tell me that the carburetor needs to be replaced and that the oil and spark plug need to be replaced. They wanted to charge me 975$ for the work. Kinda shady, picked up my RV and learned a lesson on where not to take my RV for service.

We bought a Toshiba 30hp motor about 6 months ago. After installing the motor it would not work. We checked all of the wire diagram to make sure it was correct and it was. We then called the company and they sent a service tech to see if they could figure out the problem and it would still not work. They offered to have the motor tested and if it was a defect in the motor they would get us a new motor. After 6 months of going back and forth with them, getting the run around, them not returning any calls, we finally went down and they said that moisture got in the motor and they would not cover it and we were out $1500.00. What I don't understand is if it never worked in the first place how did we cause the moisture issue. Do not recommend them and will never go back to them again.

Wow what a shady outfit as far as my experience goes.I took my Motor Home Onan Gen in for a repair as was recommended my my local RV Repair in Manteca. Industrial Ele. quoted me 3 -4 hrs of analyzing time @ $95 hr. and possible material cost @ $400. To a tune of $800 estimated. Week later i get a status call that the V regulator was changed but problems still evident as a no voltage output was now a problem. Rep said (Nick) that the Technician needed an additional 4-5 hrs to work on it. So from this point on the repair cost could escalate to another $500 to $1000 plus.Needless to say, I said, NO SALE ! So I wasted $850 into the wind. I asked for the old part and they tried to give me a bogus part. In any event it was a BAD experience. (bottom line this is a typical scenario of step changing parts until you get it right)

Excellent! Have an older Weldanpower G8000 that had become victim of a large Ponderosa Pine falling on it. Candy and Marissa got on it and got all the parts I needed except for one discontinued part that I ended up repairing myself. Excellent, friendly folks, the mechanics also gave an assist with proper procedure for self repair. Couldn't be happier!!!
