Ray has an incredible eye for detail as well as an eye towards the big picture. He walked into my space and immediately had a creative solution....something we hadn’t considered!! Equally top notch is the quality of his work; be it tile or floor installation, cabinetry and all accompanying work. He worked cleanly and finished within the agreed upon time table. Ray Romano is truly a perfectionist. Worth every penny.

Ray did a complete gut renovation of our 2br apartment, based on a complex and detailed design. Virtually everything was replaced - walls, floors, ceilings, kitchen, bathrooms, electrical service, plumbing, and built in cabinets. Ray turned my vision for the place into reality - in the midst of the pandemic, no less. Work was interrupted in March with much left to be done, but he got the place livable soon thereafter and worked around our social distancing requirements until completion. The best part was that Ray and his team shared in my vision for a quality end product, and went the extra distance to build it as I imagined. His core crew of long-term tradesmen all exhibited a personal commitment to work of which they could be proud, and with which I was completely satisfied. I provided an extremely detailed set of specifications, including many custom features, and Ray fulfilled absolutely every requirement. I very much enjoyed working with Ray and his crew. I would recommend the firm for a job like ours without reservation.

Ray Romano is an incredibly talented contractor. He partnered with us from inception to punch list and made sure our needs were met the entire way through. He is extremely talented when it comes to space and design and can help solve many architectural issues too. We had a huge challenge that we were trying to figure out and he offered an incredible suggestion to us and to our architect that wound up being used and made all the difference. We also have small children and he was very conscious and aware of timing and cleanliness. We felt very comfortable with him managing our renovation on every level. He is also right in Manhattan and was available at a moment's notice. We LOVE Ray. He is our savior and we highly recommend him to anyone considering the harrowing project of renovation. You'll be in amazing hands.

Just the best. I had Ray do two renovations for me over the 20 years I lived in my 2 bedroom pre-war coop. Nothing is more charming than Prewar, but nothing has more issues with old walls, old floors, old pipes on and on. Ray made my apartment not only gorgeous, but had amazing ideas for making it highly functional. He has the vision of an architect. He opened up the apartment, by removing unnecessary small walls and widened doorways and passage ways. My bathroom is like a spa. The stall shower is no more a stall, but a glass enclosed wet room. So while he updated for modern day convenience, he retained old-world details, like the original tub which was made to look new. The apartment tended to be dark, but with all the opened spaces it is now lighter and brighter. My kitchen is a dream, my floors are gorgeous, and even the closet where he installed my washer/dryer is somehow more roomy than before it had a washer/dryer inside it.

Ray renovated my new home while I was away for 8 weeks. My wife and two kids were doing the move on their own and timing was down to the wire due to the Building Department being very slow in approving major architectural structural plans. Ray got the renovation done in time for my wife and kids to move in prior to school starting. He not only did the job under major timing pressure, he also did it with extreme attention to detail and incredible craftsmanship. Ray is extremely family friendly and pays very close attention to timing which is seriously refreshing in a world where contractors seem to always be behind. Can't thank Ray enough for taking care of my family when I wasn't able to.

We could not be happier with our kitchen remodel by Ray Romano Contracting completed a few months ago! Everything was on time and exactly what we wanted. From the planning phase through to the project completion, the remodel went exactly as we expected. Quality of the craftsmanship and materials is exceptional. Crew members were courteous and talented renovation professionals. Attention to detail was outstanding. Communication throughout the project was excellent. We would definitely recommend the company to friends.

Ray completed a renovation of our 3br apartment which included replacing all the wood floors, fully renovating our kitchen/bathrooms, reconfiguring several spaces including closets/foyer/hallways, and replacing plumbing/electric throughout our apartment. He checked all the boxes as far as what a homeowner hopes for in a contractor as far as professionalism and work quality. The highlight of working with him, however, was his approach to the challenges that arose— both small technical issues and larger DOB-type restrictions. In our case, the biggest issue we faced involved the placement of a gas meter, which was under scrutiny due to changing regulations and differences of opinion from various inspectors. Ray really took this issue into his own hands and resolved a matter that our architect and engineers should have handled. He’s a problem solver and gets things done— all with a positive attitude. Oh, and he has the best painters! Meticulous and take great pride in their work.
