Love the location. A five minute walk to Regal Edwards in Bakersfield. Two free solar powered plugs. 16A, 3kw. Only one works currently.
EA hasn’t built out any additional chargers in the Bakersfield area in the last three years despite increasing number of EV cars. They all work which is good but every time I’ve come there’s always a line. Might be worth checking out the WattEV chargers out near the airport…
2-3-2023 - 4 out of 6 chargers down, but someone was there working on them. It's crazy how many chargers in town don't work right now. Went 3 places and couldn't charge at any of them, and that was avoiding 2 other charging spots I already knew were broken. Have charged here before and got right around the max 50kwh charge rate on my Chevy Bolt. Tried two different chargers today and started at 20kwh and got to a highest of 27kwh. Started at 20% battery. Not sure if something wrong with the chargers. Two chargers were completely broken/offline.
They need to stop the charger number gaslighting. There are 5 spots, not 11. Counting both cables on each machine, when only 1 at a time can be used, is utter BS.
Could be better, they need more chargers. Maybe an app or something to show if there is a line. Also make a designated line area or waiting area of sorts… Line is pretty consistent but can get messy if it is busy
The app and the charger itself (#1) takes time to work. 3 attempts before it started charging
5 of the 6 chargers are not working. Called Electrify America who said some of them are inoperable because they are due for upgrades and others need a parts replaced. Everyone scrambling because the other HPC station in the area also has one one functioning charger... There is a similar review one year ago AKA Electrify America is not maintaining or repairing their charging stations.
