Excellent communication. Technicians are truly proud of what they do. Looking forward to laughing on hot days knowing that I don’t have to worry about the air-conditioning bill anymore.!!
DO NOT HIRE THESE INSTALLERS! The company, installers and the sales representative lied to our faces. We started the process in September 2024 and our solar panel system still has not been fully complete and activated. We woke up to no power this morning. Which surprised us since we were told we would be grid independent once installed. The sales person told us that we would be grid independent after installation. That is NOT the case. Instead, they have turned our home into a giant battery for SCE and have the government rebates for their company. I called Enphase - the company that controls the system and they said the installers - Empower - DID NOT install the "system controller." D’Ann, the person at Enphase said she was surprised Empower didn’t install that since that is the critical component to making your home grid independent and said that installing batteries without the system controller was "pointless." The good news is that we can get it installed she said, the bad news is that we have to pay for it. No one at Empower is answering because they don’t have 24 hour support even though Google and their website says they do. It just goes to a message that says it’s after hours and then hangs up on you. So good luck getting help unless it’s between 9am - 5pm. They need to update their site and Google because saying you’re available 24 hours a day by phone is a lie. The sales person for Vivint Solar, Lachlan, who came to our home and told us we would be grid independent said that we would need 2 batteries the mislead us on the size of the actual batteries. He motioned with his hands that they were about 3 x 2 but they arrived with 4 batteries and take up half of the side of our house. It was a shock how big they actually were when they arrived to install them and they needed 4 instead of 2. The worst part of it is that none of that is accurate. He lied to our faces and told us that with batteries we would have grid independence. But never told us that we would also need to buy a system controller for that to be true. It took 3.5 days for them to complete the installation and it still isn’t correct. The final inspection didn’t go well. They left broken tiles which they are supposed to replace during the final. They said they did replace them and were about to leave but then I looked out the window of two rooms in our house where we can see the roof and saw at least 3 BROKEN TILES next to the panels and combiner pipes. WHY didn’t they see them if they next to the work they did? Also, SCE came out and replaced our breaker panel box and then we had an electrician come out to put a new plug in our gagarge and he found that they just used the old switches from the old box and found a few that weren’t even working. So we had to pay to have those replaced. How do 2 electricians from SCE and 2 installers from Empower not even test all of the switches before calling it a day? Totally shoddy work. We understand that there are a lot of steps to get the power on (site survey, solar and battery install, combiner install and panel upgrade, final inspection, then a whole bunch of other SCE bureaucracy, but our panels are still not active after 7 MONTHS and we will have to CHASE them down to reply to anything or give us updates. They do not tell you at the sales level that it will take almost half a year to get the system just to the point where they MIGHT be turned on and will not even install all components needed.
The install was done quickly and cleanly. Everything looks great. All workers were respectful. Couldn't askfor a better install experience. They left the my home and yard as clean if not cleaner then it was when they started. The whether arrived early both days.
QC Jerry and installer Saul were fantastic! They showed up on time, fully explained the system and did a fast, neat job. I will highly recommend them to my neighbors!
The team arrived on time and the install went without a hitch. All the team members were friendly and professional answering all my questions. Finally they left the site all cleaned up. I can highly recommend the team and the work they completed for me.
The crew was great! The guys showed up and got right to work on the installation. Sergio was really nice and walked us through the whole process, showing us where everything was on the electrical panel and how the batteries charge. Thanks again
The installation crew was absolutely great and everything was installed neatly and cleanly. They did a superb job!
