NEC provides excellent electricity service. I appreciate their straightforward approach with no gimmicks, contracts, or confusing schemes. The customer service is also very friendly. Just a reminder that outages are handled by your local TDU (like CenterPoint or Oncor), as NEC is a Retail Electric Provider focused on billing. Highly recommend them for this area!
horrible hidden fees & pricing. horrible customer service. unfortunately this is the only electricity provider for my area. cannot wait to move.
Easy set up, no contracts, best prices for the Houston area….it’s Centerpoint who is what makes electricity stink.
I was using Green Mountain Energy for over 5 years, and I made the switch to NEC CO-OP Energy because I saw they were non-profit. My bills have gone down significantly. I like that their prices are fair and reasonable. They aren’t trying to make profit off of an already profitable sector. I also got tired of having a "fixed rate" for a "fixed time frame", and then having to talk to some outsourced company to negotiate a new contract. I wish I would have signed up earlier. Love my service.

Rude Staff. Inconsistent due dates and charges. Edit 6/8/2022 Also like to point out after they over charged my account the month and admitted to doing so, they charged my bank again and put it into the Red and I got hit with an item return fee. NEC is a joke of a company and should consider themselves lucky that they are allowed to run a monopoly over electricity in CC, because with out that they wouldn't have any business
Just got my bill that included the time during the deep freeze event. My bill didn't go up at all. Turns out NEC is not involved with that ERCOT wholesale price system. NEC rocks!
