I was referred here because my son tested positive for lead. I thought it was a wonderful program. They replaced my remaining windows that were original to the house and did some other renovations for me. I appreciate that more than anything. I am extremely grateful they had funding and donations to do these types of things for people like us. The issue lies between the company that was hired by them and was completely taken advantage of. They replaced the remaining windows but one single window that sat side by side to two other windows. They removed the broken pieces out the window, removed the insulation and put up more plywood over it and painted it. It is absolutely freezing in my sons room because of it. It also is a horrible eye sore. It would have made more sense to leave out the middle window or center the two of the 3 windows or anything but what they did. They replaced the interior trim to the windows and screwed in star bit screws and painted over them. You font use star bit screws on interior trim, you use trim nails. They removed my main drain clean out plug, tossed it out, put a smaller one on & spray foamed my main drain and contributed to 3000$ worth of main drain work that had to be done that my insurance wouldnt cover. They also fell through my floor to the ceiling of my living room, which I say is my fault since part of the floor is missing due to plumbing insulation. However, my son and I was sitting underneath and between the plaster and the slat we were pretty scratched up. I asked them NOT to "fix" it and to leave the plastic on so I could call someone that's more professional on fixing and matching 1900s ceiling stamps, they refused and "fixed" it. There's this half way done horrible patch job on my ceiling that is now absolutely horribly done. They covered existing drywall in my dining room with plywood and once again, star bit screws. They painted my sons bedroom original hardwood floor with my sons blue wall paint that was under his bed. I dont know what gave them the bright idea to do that, and thankfully after talking with them they removed the paint, however the floor is still stained blue. They dug the side of my house up about 4 inches to remove lead dirt, but they purchased top soil and didn't even pack it down so now my basement is POURING water and it stays muddy & it pools water. The workers kept saying we don't have anymore funding to do this or that and I saw the funding paperwork, there is just absolutely no way that didn't have anymore funding. I've had quotes done on my home and that had more than half of the funding left, they just wanted to take advantage of the grant program. I'd be disappointed if I was to make a donation towards programs like this and learn what happened. It has absolutely had me in tears. If they had someone more professional and experienced at this work, I would absolutely have recommended this program but after losing out on more money from them than they put into my house, I am sadly disappointed and slightly embarrassed. I also signed an agreement to not sell my house with the two year after work was done but the work done had caused me such financial strain that I'm not sure I can live in my house any longer.

When requesting documentation I provided a Proof of Eligibility form provided by the FSSA office. They are still telling me that it is unacceptable proof because it lists all cases that I’ve ever had myself or my children on, one of which expired last year for my 2 older children, but myself and my youngest child are still on. I even went a step further to highlight the names, dates benefits started, and the date the letter was issued after receiving a notification that the documents I provided were for SSA and that it wasn’t sufficient enough. But the documentation that I provided was given to me by the FSSA office regarding health insurance. I called the number to speak with someone and they’re telling me that it shows the benefits expired. When trying to explain that it shows every case I’ve had and the most recent case is the information that I highlighted for them and the representative just started raising her voice to talk over me and stop me from finishing what I was trying to say. She again repeated the same line that it wasn’t acceptable, but how is the document provided to me by a government ran assistance program not sufficient proof? There is no end date because we are still receiving benefits as of the date it was sent. I even called the FSSA office to verify that if there is no end date listed it means that you are still eligible/receiving benefits as of the date on the letter. But the representative wouldn’t let me explain that. I feel like they just don’t want to help people anymore and if that is the case then the office just needs to be closed. Stop giving people FALSE HOPE that they may get the help they desperately need. Or train your employees better to be able to competently read the government documents that they require as proof because straight from the FSSA office, if there is no end date listed then benefits are currently being received as of the date on the letter.

This is for the IERA - which looks like is/was run by Indiana Housing. I've had one problem after another. I appplied in October/2021. I got a confirmation right away, but crickets after that. My landlord was kind enough to wait, as there were other renters he had using this service, and it all happened very quickly. In Feb(2022) after weekly calls, and messages left, and basically every other day emails. I finally started e-mailing any name that i could find that worked for this company. That is what finally got someone to look at my case && agree it should have been approved months ago. I was 7k behind when they finally issued payment. One week after, I got the recertification email. I filled everything out, and sent it back in one day aftet I recieved the email. I didnt get my recertification until June(2022). Currently I had a recert email on 9/26/2022. I filled it back out and resubmitted it 9/28/2022. I got an email on 11/28 that my lease had expired in Sep.2022, and i needed to submit a new lease, or an extension of my current [expired] lease. I got ahold of my landlord and submitted my extended lease on 12/2...10 days from 11/28 is 12/08. I got an email yesterday that said "Final attempt for lease verification" - saying they were still waiting on an updated lease. That I sent them on 12/2! - The email says my application will expire on 12/8 if they dont recieve it. I have timestamps! it was seng 12/2! Ive called numerous times today, nobody has even picked up the phone. Ive left 4 messages today, and emailed "Muhammed" who was the one sending me the verification emails twice today. Trying to get ahold of anyone! Why is this such a clusterf***?! Why is nobody answering phones? Or emails? No helpdesk, no customer service... nothing. Why??

I do not feel like blacks are giving the same quality when it comes to the rental assistance program especially living in Greenwood!! I put in an application back in January and it is now March it has not been touched or even looked at, I have not received any type of response or confirmation that it was even received and is processing pending or what! I just think this need to be brought to someone attention and I won’t stop here ‼️

If I could give zero stars I would. They are rude and laugh at you. Don't be surprised if it takes MONTHS to get a response and do not drive to their Indy office because you won't be allowed to talk to anybody. Don't waste your time.

Is anyone a part of this organization and or job actually at work or doing their job? Absolutely haven't had any update yet nor does anyone pick up the phone idk why this program exists if cases aren't being reviewed nor anyone not responding from the development department. Have yet to speak with someone in regards to my case! I'm reporting IHCD
