Electrify America Charging Station
📍 Ev charging stations in Colorado Springs
Electrify America's Colorado Springs location provides a convenient charging option for EV drivers. Situated within a parking facility, the station currently offers a limited number of DC fast chargers, which can lead to congestion during peak times. Expansion and additional charger installations would certainly benefit local EV adoption and alleviate potential wait times.
Users should be aware of the pricing structure and potential need for an auto-recharge setting to utilize the system effectively. The station's functionality relies on reliable network connectivity, and occasional resets may be necessary. The availability of CHAdeMO plugs is also a consideration for compatible vehicles.

I only wish they had multiple CHAdeMO plugs instead of just one. So far I've been lucky and found it available right away, but I'm scared of finding it not available when I need it the most. The price is very high ($0.56 per kW) and it takes 20 minutes to get from 30% to 80%, I pay around $10. The app is very nice to have to check availability, but I don't like that I need to have the auto recharge no matter what to use it. I have been paying at the tower so far, and they charge a $50 refundable holding fee, so that's a bummer (it's cancelled in around 3/4 days). I wish there were more charging stations like this with more CHAdeMO plugs around Colorado Springs, closer to downtown and that are not in a parking garage.
4 out of 4 x I have drove right up to a charger at this station. Had to call support once to have charger reset before it would work (10 minutes). Why is it we don't expect shelter from the elements, windshield wash, or bathrooms for charging stations? Is it the inner peace we're supposed to feel w/low CO2?
Queue definitely forming by mid afternoon sometimes as many as five vehicles waiting. Another install, or expansion must be done for the area, as this is not adequate for the amount of users. Charger it self was fine, although not the maximum for temps and SoC.
Worst EA station I’ve encountered so far. First attempt to charge on a road trip 2 spots occupied. The others were all out of service. Wasn’t desperate for charge so went on my way and came back after sunset. 1 charger working as intended, but occupied. 1 completely unresponsive, another showing session in progress (but nothing hooked up) and the others would not accept payment; card reader dead.
A single operational charger out of six. Which is supposed to be 350kw but only functions at 49kw. What the hell is wrong with Electrify America and how is it that around 75 percent of their infrastructure is broken and even more of it if operational is working at about 10-20 percent of it's functional level. Is this the result of someone realizing they could steal a whole massive heap of government money telecom style and just barely or not even deliver?
This charging station has one of the best fast chargers I have used so far to charge my car. Though, the 150kwhr was closer to 70 on the first stall I used. The "hyper fast," 350 kw/hr charger was excellent, fast, and glitch free.
The positive is these chargers are convenient because they’re along my way home BUT there’s only 6 charging stations and 2 of them are constantly out of service and don’t work. When they do work it’s nice and quick. No expert here but I would think that Electricy America would consider adding a few more locations in the spirngs. This is the only one and there’s always a bunch of other cars in line when it’s cold out. With Carson being right down the street and this being Sam’s Club and Walmart you could easily add another location in Fountain or downtown springs.
