I’ll start by saying that Genconnex does make a good looking conversion kit for Honda inverter generators. However, the luster of any product inevitably fades when customers encounter poor service. That was my personal experience with Genconnex. I purchased a propane converted EU3200i Honda generator in June of 2023 - with shipping, I paid just shy of $3,500 - and it saw very minimal use over the next two years. Then, during a recent camping trip (July 2025), the unit stopped working altogether. I called and spoke to Gary at Genconnex, talking through symptoms and general troubleshooting until we finally concluded that it needed to be sent in for warranty repair. Since the generator still looked brand new, I went the extra mile to ensure it was incredibly well insulated with bubble wrap, expanding foam, and UPS filling any remaining voids in the double-walled cardboard box with additional insulation before they closed everything up. While waiting for the warranty repair, I actually purchased a second propane converted Honda generator from Genconnex - this time, the smaller EU2200i - and looked forward to receiving this lighter, quieter generator for use during an upcoming camping trip. Fast forward…I received the repaired EU3200i just over a week later (a reasonable turnaround time). Although the return shipping box appeared to be in good condition without any damage, I was disappointed to see the generator itself was scratched up and even assembled incorrectly, causing additional cosmetic damage to the exterior panels. (again, this is a $3,500 investment) When I contacted Genconnex and provided pictures showing the damage, Gary sent a very dismissive response via email, stating "we can only do so much" and even suggested that UPS was responsible for the damage. Despite the slightly unprofessional reply, he did share that he provided a refund ($1,755) for the second generator that I ordered over a week prior. I assumed this was his attempt to avoid having to repair or replace the more expensive EU3200i, so I decided to just let it go and order the Honda OEM replacement parts myself (which ended up costing me over $400). Three weeks went by and I still had not received the second (EU2200i) generator. When I finally received a response via email, I learned that Gary did not provide a refund because of the issues with the warranty claim, but instead he actually canceled the order entirely. No discussion with me at all. Just canceled. All I could think was, "Did this really just happen?" He canceled a completely separate order because I wasn’t satisfied with their warranty work on the EU3200i? Bottom line…if you damage a customer’s property while it’s in your possession, you repair or replace it. Period. Anything less is poor customer service. Taking it further by canceling subsequent orders, essentially telling that customer you don’t want their business…that’s nothing short of spite. I know this is a long review, but I hope it saves someone from going through a similar experience. There are equally impressive alternatives available from reputable companies that genuinely care about customer satisfaction and will go above and beyond to exceed expectations. You can do better than Genconnex.

Had a minor issue that needed additional troubleshooting with the unit, and after not hearing a response for 13 days I responded with a followup email asking for an update, and after waiting ANOTHER day I sent a followup email saying (This is word for word) that "I plan to initiate a chargeback on my card if I don't hear back." That was the ONLY thing that got them to respond. The president reached out and complained saying "At this point, though, since you felt it was important to threaten us, you've made the situation untenable." (which is an unhinged response lol), and ironically immediately proceeded to tell me that if I returned it and it was damaged in any way that they would "Pursue every legal remedy available to be fully compensated." He then signed the email off with "Threatening the people that are trying to help you must work great for you, but not us.  Have a great day!" Absolutely unhinged response to a customer who was just trying to get support from an unhinged company. For blowing up at the most mild of messages, I couldn't imagine anyone needing any warranty or support help from them. Stay far away! Way better options out there at way better prices. EDIT: After seeing this review they emailed me again: "Your public reviews were misleading, defamatory and libelous." ^ This just reinforces that they deserver a 1 star review. I'd review lower than one if I could.

I purchased a propane conversion kit for my Honda EU3000is 5 years ago. The installation was easy. Today I started my generator to charge the battery. As usual the generator started the first time. It is a comfortable feeling to know, when I need the generator, it will start. Thanks Genconnex for a reliable product.

I purchased the natural gas EU7000is a couple of years ago. It is for emergency use only. Luckily I haven’t had to use it much, but enough to make me glad I got it. X-mass eve last year for 37 hours - flawless operation. One time, probably two years ago, I was getting it ready for a possible outage and it didn’t start. Really first time I might have needed it (ended up not needed). I called and it turned out I had the wrong sized jet for cold weather. What I was impressed about was how the service person worked with me to get it up and running just in case - it was actually fun to trouble shoot. Got the new jet in a couple of days. So I loved the service and responsiveness. I meant to write a review and just got around to it today.

I have work done all the time at my house. My experience is usually poor to average when dealing with a contractor. Boy was I surprised and elated when I needed a generator and called on Gary at genconnex. He was nice, on time, gave the best price. Went the extra mile to do the job right and there were no surprises. I don't usually take the time to review contractors, because like my mom always said if you have nothing good to say don't say it. Gary was so good I felt I needed to shout it out. If you need a generator, call this company. They are the very BEST!!

I purchased a propane converted Honda generator from Genconnex. I Have been extremely happy with the generator and the customer service provided by Genconnex. The generator runs smoothly and quietly. In the past, I had issues with it starting and called and spoke with Gary. He was extremely helpful in solving the problem. If you are in need of a generator, I can highly recommend Genconnex for their generators and customer support.

They never answered their phone and I wasn't able to hold. Not sure if this means that they are lazy or killing it with tons of customers. Either way I received no help.
