Hicks Heating & Cooling

Mr. Hicks got out here very quickly and was very professional! They do amazing work and have great pricing. We had our condenser get hit by lightening carried through the ground and fried some of the internal components. He went out of his way to come out to our place, which is about a hour trip one way, on a Sunday because we had 2 dogs. One elderly one and one with bone cancer and they couldn't be in the heat long at all. Great guy and great business! Keep up the good work Mr. Hicks!

Russell came out the same day we called when the other two places we tried said it would be two to three days. Showed up within the time frame he said he would with communication throughout the day letting us know if he was held up on prior commitments. Did not dilly dally when he arrived and got straight to work. Was quick and thorough and NEVER ONCE was there an attempt at an upscale. Charged exactly what he said he would and we ended up paying less than we had planned on paying when all was said and done. Cannot express in words how appreciative we are to find such an awesome and down to earth technician and I hope he gets a day off soon!!! A very family oriented business and you can tell Russell really cares about what he does!! We recommend Hicks A/C to anyone who will listen!!!

ALERT - Watch for fake reviews. This company "coincidentally" received several 5-star reviews immediately following a bad one. This is very suspicious since my experience was very similar to the bad one. I hired Hicks to repair an AC unit because he was available the same day to come out and take a look (others were scheduling 2-days to a week out). He was friendly and responsive at first but that was followed by a series of missed commitments and excuses. I certainly understand that unexpected things happen but it took a total of 17-days to get a replacement AC unit installed and running in the summer heat. He did not haul off the old unit or pad. After 7 additional weeks and numerous additional commitments followed by excuses, I finally hauled off the old unit and pad myself. The replacement unit installed by Hicks does not keep the house cooled to the set temperature. I have called another company to fix it. Hicks committed to registering my warranty with the manufacture but I confirmed that it was never registered. Don't waste your time or money using Hicks Heating & Cooling. UPDATE - It cost me $4,000 for another company to fix everything Hicks did wrong. He cross threaded a connection to the coil requiring a completely new condenser. He failed to install a proper metering device but installed an extra dryer in the line. He did not connect the condensation drain pipe in the crawlspace. He did a hack-job on the refrigerant line.

He started fantastic, but then left us with a malfunctioning furnace that was brand new! He wouldn't return our calls, and never showed up with a scheduled appointment. I am so disheartened by him; we thought he was very personable and we had initially enjoyed conversations with him. We have now moved on to a different company.

There we were a Saturday before a get together that night and without air conditioning. Called Hick's up and Russell was at the lake with his kids but he walked me through checking the system and was able to get the air running after finding a blown fuse. He simply could have not answered but took the time to help me out.

Cannot reccommend him enough. He literally saved my family. We had dangerous levels of carbon monoxide in our house and he would not stop until he was sure my family was safe. Solid, hard working, and honest too! Great service all the way around!

We called his company on a Sunday to have them come out on a Wednesday for a service call and when Wednesday came they were supposed to be here in the morning. They never showed up nor called to inform us that they would be late or needing to reschedule. My husband and my mother both try to get in contact with them to see if they were OK or if they were in an accident and still by the end of the day we had not heard from them. The amount of discourtesy was completely uncalled for and if I could give them a zero I would. My mother who is older and has trouble with her legs stayed upstairs for over six hours waiting for these people to show up before I got home and told her to go downstairs and that I was going call somebody else.
