To whom it may concern, I have been with GME for over 13 plus years. At this moment I have spoken with 7 to 10 individals in reference to overpayment on my bill (10/14/25.) After speaking to three individuals @ 7 pm on the 14th of October it was shared the money had not cleared their bank and there wasn't anything they could do but call my bank on 10/15/25. I went to my bank the next day to cancel the payment and resubmit half my balance. My bank shared the funds had already cleared on 10/14/25, so Victoria was not honest. For the second or third time I called GME back again on 10/15/25 to ask what was the next step since the bill was now cleared and over $800. 00 was sitting @ 9:50 am in their ACH account and needed to be returned to me. Mr. Gatica shared I needed to send proof the funds cleared my bank. At 9:38 am the document was submitted to GME on 10/15/2025 with dispute explanation. For the next seven days, I called everyother day and received three emails from payment inquiries, explaining GME would be holding my money for ten days due to the way I paid and their policy... I did all procedures GME asked and the money was to be refunded by 10/25/25, tens and I received and email this morning on 10/27/25 that it is going to take 3-5 more days because the ten days fell on a Saturday. How unfair this world has become and doesn't Honor the work of a committed customer. Here it is almost fifty days and GME will not refund MY money because....I pray we learn what honoring committed customers are truly like in this WORLD!

UPDATE Guess who text me after 2 years of ghosting me? That’s right! gme. They had my # this whole time! They failed to provide the payment plan they promised, cut off my lights, and then had the nerve to tell me to go ahead and sign up for a 30 - yep a THIRTY month contract. I’ve received a few emails since my last review saying how they miss my business. They even asked me to - take a survey - What a joke! The reviews on here must be an AI error on their part. Their Better Business Bureau has a true rating. I’ve been a customer for 12 years and 1 month. I’ve recently become unemployed, so the second call I made after the mortgage company was to GME. They were to place me on a payment plan after paying $200. Didn’t happen. Two weeks later they cut off service instead for the same amount they were to put on a payment plan. I had to pay $179 to get the lights turned back on. I was to wait u til I was late to request a payment plan. That was two weeks ago. They cut off the lights again today. I was told to pay $289- today no option of payment plan because the service was cut off. So $660 in a month - after being promised a payment plan. I am still due -$250 by 10/24. That will eligible for a payment plan, but NOT now - you know - because I am allll caught up.

After 7 years as a customer with Green Mountain Energy..... I just asked for a 7 to 10 day extension on my $236 electric bill and they wanted $85 to extend it. The rep was very nice but did not help. Kept saying the "system" wouldn't let him extend it without me paying them. I pointed out the "system" only does what people tell it to do. Someone had to program it to do that. If I had $85 I would pay that on the bill. So much for a 5 star company I had been very happy with until now. I guess I should start looking for another company as it is apparent they no longer want me as a customer. Most companies will work with long time customers, especially on such small amounts. Not this one. NRG worth 32 billion and would rather collect $85 today and piss off a customer than $236 next week and keep that customer.......

Been a customer of them for years and their rates have become comically noncompetitive. 20 cents per kWh? These people have ZERO respect for their customers. They also have the highest cancellation fee out of every major company. Safe to say, I will be switching to a different company when my contract expires.

Don’t use their service. It’s a bunch of lies and they charge you crazy amounts of money for nothing. Bills are insanely high even with you trying your hardest to save as much you can. No matter what you do they will for you to give them money. They are the nastiest and greediest company you could get. Stay away from them at all cost. Anywhere else will give you reasonable pricing. All this green energy stuff is just a gimmick for you to feel good about your initial purchase. After that the truth shows and then you’ll have to pay an additional 400 just to cancel their dog water service.

Update: The owner has even misspelled my name in their response to my review. They claim to be "saddened" by my review, yet after I posted it, I saw MANY other recent one-star reviews, so obviously this is a pattern. My review clearly states that I have already reached out to customer service multiple times, and they refused to help me. It saddens me that this company has nothing more to offer than meaningless platitudes. Absolutely astonished by my poor experience with this company. My account was transferred to Green Mountain from Infuse Energy three years ago, without giving me any opportunity to choose a different company. When setting up my account, Green Mountain changed the spelling of my first name to an incorrect spelling. When I renewed my contract two years ago, I asked customer service to correct the name, assuming that would be a simple matter. Instead, they told me they could not do that, even though the error was entirely on their end, and my name has never changed. They told me I had to submit a copy of my ID to an email address and wait two months for it to be "verified." I went out of my way to submit this documentation to "prove" that Green Mountain had misspelled my name, even though they could have easily referred back to the records they received from Infuse Energy in the first back. After all that, I never heard back and nothing was ever done. Since my contract was up for renewal again this month, I once again asked customer service to take care of the problem. I was given the exact same runaround and told once again to submit my ID to the same email address I had submitted it to two years ago, and again told this could take up to two months to "verify" and "process." The customer service representative took no responsibility for the error and offered no solutions except for me to repeat a process that had already failed to get me any results. I find it absolutely incredible that this company does not even provide any actual value (they do not provide my electricity or fix it when it goes out), but simply serves as a middle-man to collect money, yet it's utterly "impossible" for them to change one letter in one name that THEY messed up, after three years. This is some of the WORST customer service I have ever encountered in my life. I would be ashamed to work at a company that held its own customers in such contempt. Especially one that claims to be making the world a better place.

I have been a customer with Green Mountain energy for five years and generally satisfied. The one question I had about the reimbursement of smart thermostat program by Green Mountain ENERGY and I could not get the answer on the website or by talking to a customer service agent.
