If 5 stars wasn’t enough. SM Mechanical is truly top notch at what they do. My encounter with Brad (manager/tech) was perfect. Brad came into our home to review the issues with a 20 plus year old gas furnace. Brad was able to discuss the process for the quote, look at the unit itself. Knowing that this would be a tough job since the furnace was only 14" wide. Brad still quoted me and was ideally the perfect fit. After Brad completed his portion, we talked about servicing and maintenance on another unit. He took the time to listen and give honest feedback. The scheduling process with Emily couldn’t have been anymore smoother. Emily provided great customer service and was willing to work around my scheduled. She also made it easy for the deposit. Regarding installation, that was top notch. Clayton and Dominique were an awesome duo. They worked quickly and swiftly. At the end of the installation, they took the time to discuss what they did and answered questions. Cleaning up was amazing as I didn’t have to go behind them. They respected our home as if it was there own home. I don’t think I could’ve asked for anything better. From my family themselves, they are feeling the heat now! The house is set up well and this winter they will NOT be freezing! Thank you SM Mechanical for all you did for us. It’s truly appreciated and well deserved for 5 stars!

I do not see an option to respond to the owners response, so I am responding here. Let me be clear. NEVER once did I mention anything about landscaping. My issue is with the hole, that WAS NOT there before the work, but is there after the work, still to this day (9+ months later). I have submitted pictures as well. Your own pictures DO NOT show a hole that is currently here! Yes, you sent them back out, as you should have, however the patch work DID NOT correct the issue. The dirt was not compact properly, which is still causing the hole. ==================================================== I am so overwhelmed, still to this day. I had plumbing done by SM Mechanical LLC, for my elderly mother, through GHHI (Baltimore City Program). Work was done 7/8/24 - 7/10/24. The guys were nice enough, however, I never expected my mother to be left in a dangerous situation, still to this day 5/3/25! They changed galvanized pipes to PVC. They ran pipes from the house to the street meter. They used a bobcat to dig, but did not pack the dirt back in correctly. It looked like 4 bodies were buried in her front yards. I called week after week and they kept telling me that the dirt has to settle. Needless to say, when it rained hard it washed all of the dirt away. The ground then began to sink. I called again and was told that it was settling. I said there is a difference between settling and a sinkhole!! The sidewalk is also starting to sink. They sent 2 plumbers back out and they checked the meter and said there is no leak. I said you should not be able to look straight down and see a hole. They said they don't take dirt away, they put the same dirt back. I had to place a board and 2 cones to keep anyone (pets and children) form falling in. I called again and they came out. He said they went to Home Depot and got a couple of bags of dirt and placed that down. It looks like potting soil to me. I went to Home Depot and Lowe's to get some dirt and was told that they DO NOT sell regular dirt, just topsoil and potting soil. So my first thought was true. Other professionals that I had come out said it looks like they did not pack the dirt with the bobcat, which caused the mound of dirt to was away. The sidewalk is also shifting because the dirt was not packed correctly. SMH! I am so frustrated. Maybe they do a better and safer jobs, if they were not being paid through a program. I was told that the program pays well, but apparently not well enough for them to do a safe job. Here it is 10 months later and still no satisfaction from SM Mechanical LLC nor Green & Healthy Home Initiative, which have both ignored this safety hazard. If this is how they treat seniors, I would hate to see how they treat others.

Thanks to Bob and the entire team at SM Mechanical! They quickly and efficiently diagnosed the core issue and offered practical, cost-effective solutions for how to move forward. Purcell, their plumber, did an excellent job installing our instant water heater and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I really appreciate their honesty, fairness, and professionalism throughout. I would gladly recommend SM Mechanical to anyone in need of reliable service, and I’ll definitely be sharing their name with others.

SM Mechanical is a cut above the rest! If you are looking for a company with integrity, craftsmanship, accountability, knowledge, reliability, effectiveness, efficiency, time management, highly skilled, and friendly, SM Mechanical is definitely it. I score this company 10 out of 10. Why such high score? I was introduced to SM Mechanical by a friend who had them completed her BGE Energy Audit and subsequently had her water heater installed... In addition, she also introduced them to her mother who had some similar work done in addition to insulating her attic. In turn, I called them because the contractor who completed my BGE Energy Audit did not complete the process properly and did not provide me with any paperwork. Bob, Project Manager, came out and did a thorough inspection and walk-through of my home (Cape Cod). His calm and pleasant demeanor was the first indication that this was the right company. As such, I decided to use them to install 3 Mini-split Units and insulate my attic. On December 26, 2024, the owner Shawn and a crew of 4 very respectful young men (Stephen, site manager, Thomas, John and Andrew) showed up ready to work. While working, their conversations were positive and jovial. Their work attitude spoke volume that they were totally invested and very knowledgeable of the process. Even in the absence of the owner, the crew communicated with each other with respect and worked together as a team to get the job done. At times, they would also included me in the process whenever they experienced any diffculties. On December 27, 2024, the three (3) Mini-splits were properly installed. Stephen took the time to explain the process of operating the splits now and in the future and asked if I had any questions. The crew also did a complete clean-up of the work site each day before leaving and made sure all gates were secured. When the crew completed the job on the 27th, I received a call from Bob before the end of the day making sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. On December 30th, Bob returned for a quality assurance check. He also brought with him the company for the insulation of the attic. Bob also made sure that they were set-up for success. Before leaving, Bob asked if there were any questions in addition to providing best practices and guidance for future home renovation projects. Honestly, I don't write reviews, but this company earns the time, respect, and compensation for a job well done. Please keep up the good work .

I had no hot water in my Master shower at my house and I needed it to be fixed before I sold it. SM Mechanical sent out one of their seasoned plumbers, Purcell. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and to the point. It being an old house, it ended up turning into a thread pulling session where a seemingly small fix ended up needing some major work done. Thanks to Purcell's methodical steps in figuring out the issue, it ended up being very manageable and I wasn't getting upsold things I didn't need. The original issue was fixed, and he was able to go above and beyond with getting it looking top notch. I'd trust Purcell and the SM Mechanical team with any plumbing work i needed done in this old house. Very happy to have been referred to them.

My A/C was not cooling properly and it was in the middle of a heat wave. I heard good things about this company so I figured I'd give them a shot. I am very happy I did! Their technicians were booked but the owner and an HVAC manager came out. They found the issue quickly and were able to fix it. They explained everything in a way i could understand. A/C is back and it feels wonderful inside. I will definitely be using SM Mechanical the next time I need service.

I’ve used S.M. Mechanical a few times over the past several years always with great satisfaction. Most recently they replaced a water heater and went above and beyond. Not only did they replace it with a larger capacity unit (others had told me it wasn’t possible to move up from 30 to 40 gallons because of space constraints), they saved me over $500 from two other quotes I had received for the job. Additionally, they replaced the heater with a commercial-grade unit. Needless to say I recommend them in the highest.
