Absolutely terrible experience with UWS Heating & Cooling. They came during the recent heat wave and charged me $2,500 for refrigerant that leaked out entirely within two days. No estimate was provided before the work. I assumed a few hundred dollars for a service call, and was shocked by the final bill after less than 2 hours in my apartment. They also refused to provide a proper invoice. After repeated requests, what they eventually sent was vague, incomplete, and nothing like a professional receipt. They only accepted payment via Venmo, which should have been a red flag. The positive reviews here are clearly suspicious: if you click through, many of the accounts are reviewing the same random businesses like watch dealers and mold removal companies. This company is predatory, unprofessional, and dishonest. Do yourself a favor: avoid at all costs.

The most unprofessional, unserious, and disappointing home services company I've come across. They came to evaluate our A/C unit when it stopped working properly and took the opportunity to overcharge for unnecessary work without being up front about it. Replacing refrigerant without checking for a leak first should pretty much never happen, and no company that cared about doing things the right way should do that. I think this company subcontracts out a lot of their work so maybe I should have known better. I'm not a big believer in tearing companies down publicly without trying to work things out individually first. So I tried calling to discuss the situation and try to make it right twice and they wanted nothing to do with hearing it out. There's plenty of appliance repair companies that care about customer service, integrity, and professionalism. Go find one of those and stay far away from UWS Heating & Cooling.

I hired them for my parents house and I have to say they were fantastic. They really helped my parents out with. Reasonable price and the work was done professionally and clean. Their HVAC system works great now.
