Intelligent Green Solutions (IGS)

We purchased our solar panels through IGS & they were installed in Feb. 2022. The amount of panels was not adequate to make become energy independent although we contracted for the number of panels they suggested. My husband had additional panels installed this year and we were finally seeing positive results. Then we suddenly stopped producing energy. I originally thought it was a glitch with the app but contacted the company a few days later. The engineers determined that our inverter was bad. Now, three weeks have passed & it still has not been replaced. That’s three weeks of beautiful sunny weather where we could have been producing energy. The last time I was contacted, I was told they are waiting for the part from Solar Edge. That was almost 2 weeks ago. I contacted IGS again to ask why Solar Edge has inverters to install new systems but none to repair a system. I have not heard back from IGS. I’d like to know if they are willing to reimburse us for the increase in power we are using from NYSEG but I already know the answer. This company is not Better Business Bureau accredited so if you are looking for a solar company find one that is.

After contemplating solar for many years, we made the rounds with several companies. IGS by far turned out to be the most professional, most detailed, and most flexible group to work with. I can't say enough great things about Alex Hood and the whole team of Intelligent Green Solutions. They were stellar and professional at all stages of the process!! Highly recommend as I suffered through a lot of online dubious players who were just out to make a sale. This team quickly resolved my angst and mistrust of the nascent industry in my rural area of New York.

Attach photos and videos Recent reviews Dick F. 14123 May 13, 2025 As some others have said, we were quite attracted and calmed by Alex the salesman and Kim the contact. He told us we would cover all our demand with the system they were putting up, solar panels and heat pumps. We have a large barn for the panels and a multi-unit house. But things soon went south. Alex sent us an attractive set of promises of generation and consumption. The problem was these were 30% low on generation and 50% low on consumption (after a year's data). We suggested that IGS could add panels at their cost to make things right but they stonewalled us. They claimed they had made no promises even though we have a very clear data sheet from them. Do not deal with this company. Then over the winter water from the roof fell on one heat pump, totally covering. It with ice. They said we could put a roof on it. But they had selected the site! This company lies and stonewalls any responsibility.

Ben and the rest of the team were excellent. Very good communication flow from the folks in the office so we always knew what was coming next. The installation team was courteous and efficient. It was a good overall experience.

Very happy with the work. I went solar with a different company about 10 years ago on my old house. New house, new solar, IGS was more custom-tailored than my previous experience, had me a lot more involved in the project in terms of where everything went, and ultimately it worked out pretty well. Also upgraded my main panel to do the job and the electrical work is excellent.
