I have been a resident whose electricity bills were handled through Ivy Energy, and my experience has been extremely frustrating. Since October 2024, Ivy Energy has charged me using estimated bills rather than actual PG&E meter readings. For nearly all months, I was billed based on estimates without being informed upfront. I only discovered this after questioning repeatedly. On top of that, I experienced double charges — I was billed both by PG&E directly and by Ivy Energy. When I raised the issue, I was told Ivy would apply a "credit" to future bills, but no clear accounting or itemized statement was ever provided. Even after I submitted proof of my PG&E payments, Ivy still avoided giving me a concrete breakdown or refund timeline. What’s worse, their communication is slow and evasive. They promised to provide me with a full billing breakdown and resolution plan within 7–8 business days, but weeks passed with no result. Now, even after I have already moved out, I am still waiting for Ivy Energy to resolve my billing issues and return the money I was overcharged. Residents deserve transparent billing, timely true-up, and proper refunds. Ivy Energy’s practices lack accountability and put an unfair burden on tenants.
I first heard of Ivy Energy in 2022, and it’s exciting to see a company building real solutions for real estate. Their approach to making solar energy accessible to renters and financially beneficial for property owners is exactly the kind of smart innovation the energy sector needs. They solve long-standing issues like tenant billing and shared solar benefits in a way that’s transparent and equitable. My interactions with their team have all been great as well. They are knowledgeable, caring, and always seem happy to answer questions about solar power or billing in simple terms for the end user. The monthly bills are easy to understand, and they provide data I like to see, including clearly summarizing savings from using solar and tips to use more solar. I would definitely recommend Ivy Energy to friends and family if they have the opportunity to live in an Ivy-enabled community or any multifamily property owners considering investing in solar.

Bills out made are inconsistent. What I mean by this is that I received my first two bills in the summer when I was running the A/C and my monthly bill was 100 dollars. Now in fall with no heat or A/C needed somehow my bill is around 400 dollars. Office does not pick up when called. I’ve called multiple extensions and not received a call back. Terrible customer service, non-consistent billing. Will be contacting lawyers to discuss possible fraudulent charges due to same kilowatts usage and inconsiderate charges.
Connects service, sends texts and emails constantly saying you need to authorize service connection, send proof its connected, finally get through to person to confirm your connected and its an error on their system...continue to get massive amount of texts and emails your system is not authorized or connected
