Krup Electric Company

At first, I was reluctant to contract the company. When I called to make the appointment, I was told that Krup is a union shop and likely more expensive than others, but they do quality work. Actually, the company does excellent work. Ed, the electrician sent to my place, was knowledgeable and fixed about four things during his visit. Moreover, he did so in a timely, methodical, and professional manner. He also gave me some helpful advice about some upgrades I am planning. In fact, the entire operation is very professional and courteous. Throughout the process, the Krup office staff was engaged. They called to schedule my appointment and then confirm my appointment. Despite the union comment, I felt the cost was fair; indeed, it was about half of what I expected to pay.

Will 100% use them again if needed!! Thought I'd have to have new house entirely re-wired. Called 5 or 6 electricians in town & Krupp sent Dave out for a free estimate the same day! He spent an hour with me, answered all my questions & assured me that the house wiring could be saved (he could have lied to get a bigger expense). I had a general estimate from him that day, followed by a detailed bid quote a day later. They were able to schedule my work for the next week & they were FAR cheaper than other quotes I had gotten. Ed & Dave arrived exactly on time & graciously answered my questions before Ed got to work. Ed worked quietly and cleanly & I never felt like he was taking extra time or going slowly. At the end he answered MORE of my questions and explained all the work he had done. The bill didn't have any surprise charges & the work was well worth the money.

If i could give zero stars i would. Called for an inspection of our breaker box in the house as we had just had an electrical fire and had recently had our box replaced. All i needed was to verify it was done correctly. Was quoted a acceptable rate for the inspection so I scheduled it a week in advance. One hour before they were supposed to arrive they called and said their tech was 1.5 hours away and would have to charge me an additional $130 on top of the agreed amount. Totally unprofessional and ridiculous. I canceled the appointment and called another service.

Krup does great work. They are thorough, responsive, and fair priced. They have been around for many years so I can trust them.
