KumuKit

The PV system Kumkit installed three years ago only worked well the first two years. Since last year, the PV system shows all kinds of problem, low-sun, battery problems. All 5 batteries were replaced in six month period this year, and finally they figured out the PV-links need to be replaced this July. Basically, the PV system is underperformed almost a year. The system they put together is really bad.

Our system hasn’t been working for 2 years. We keep reaching out asking for a solution - and they still haven’t gotten our system up and running properly. Horrible customer service - they keep giving us the runaround. They seem to just not care. Go to any other company - KumuKit is terrible.

I added more panels and a battery system in 2021. I had servicemen from Kumukit come out a couple of times to replace parts and service my system without me noticing an issue. I check my app regularly and have not had any issues. We love KumuKit! ❤️

I would to give a big shout out to a few Hawaii Energy connection staff members. Vai (technical support), Tayler, and Eddie (service department) for providing exceptional customer service. From the phone call, scheduling, and troubleshooting site visit everyone was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. My system is up and running again! I am very appreciative to be allowed to work with such nice people.

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! Our experience with this company has been horrendous. They will take your money ($40,000!) and not care if their product is faulty and doesn't work properly! When we got this system installed last year it brought our electric bill down to $28 as promised for 2 months. Then I noticed that it went up again to above $100 and we asked our salesperson what was going on. No response. Once we kept inquiring, they came out and said something was wrong with one of the batteries. If it's only 1 out of 6, why is the electric bill back to like it was before the installation? Fast forward to many months later and the problem still is not fixed! Save your money and go to literally any other company.

Bought our system 2 years ago. Was super happy with it, but have had several issues during that time with the system not working. They always resolved it eventually, but we had a few bills ranging over $300, when we normally don’t have a bill. Last month or so, system has not been working and we can’t get in touch with anyone to fix it. Left multiple voicemails and no one calls back. No one answers the phone during business hours either. I’m super disappointed with kumukit.

Do not, under any circumstances, utilize this company. The company is great when you first install the system, but when it comes to maintenance of the system, Kumukit offers abysmal customer service. They do not answer the phone, return calls or emails, or offer help or support, even when you are still under warranty. In addition, they do not keep clear/organized records of installation or permitting. Even if this company offers a great deal, do not be deceived. You will pay in the end by spending months chasing them down only to find they are unable/unwilling to help with the maintenance of this expensive system. Stay away from this company.
