First time shipping car from Long Beach to Kahului and this port drop off was the best experience ever! From security check gate check, initial check in with Joe R to inspection and vehicle delivery to Jennifer S, it was smooth, efficient and easy process. All employees communicated clearly to the process, were kind and offered assistance as needed. Jennifer went the extra mile by offering tips and advice on how best to return to my hotel efficiently after the drop off. Having an on-site vending machine; restrooms; smoking area; shaded tent area; tables and seating areas were a plus! Shout out to Matson and all team members for delivering exceptional service at this port drop off! Keep up the great work!

After a mix-up with my drop-off—where the initial staff member accidentally marked my car with his pen and having too much fuel in my car—Jennifer truly saved the day. She went above and beyond by helping remove the stain, offering advice on how to best reduce my fuel level and resolving my check-in issue quickly and kindly. I delivered my car to matson today and really struggled finding the location. After the fact, I realized the signage is clear and I needed to be more aware as I exited off pier C. I was stressed and emotional when I arrived and greeted by a security gentleman that immediately recognized I was lost and stressed. What a sweet man! When I entered the office, Linda recognized I was stressed and immediately made it clear she was gonna help me. Such a blessing. Linda was exactly who I needed at that moment and made the check in and inspection process easy. If you are fortunate enough to have Linda greet you at Matson, all is well in the world. Thank you, Linda! I appreciate you.

Terrible experience at the MaTSon port in Los Angeles. If you’re planning to come here — prepare for a nightmare. The staff is in no hurry at all, and it honestly feels like their main goal is to delay everything as much as possible. Customers are left standing outside for hours while the workers stroll around, doing absolutely nothing but pretending to be busy. Queues are clearly created artificially — just to waste your time. There is zero respect for people or their schedules. The staff completely ignores everyone, as if customers don’t even exist. It’s like management has no clue what’s going on here. If you can avoid this port — do it at all costs. Total mess and a careless attitude towards work.

This is my 4rd time shipping with Matson and even with the approximate $300 price increases from 5 to 7 years ago .... their service is Excellent!! I had the nicest and efficient guy helping me here. Many compliments to Jay Ferguson of Matson intake....I was extremely stressed after driving all way from Colorado in extreme heat of 111 degrees some days. What a relief how smooth operation. I only waited 10 minutes with 2 people ahead of me. I arrived at 11am and I was worried about lunch hour wait. No!! They keep working through as long as customers are waiting ( at least day I was here!!) When I checked inside I didn't wait either!! I was helped immediately and was so pleasant. I hand washed car just so I followed all instructions for shipping....Thank God I passed because I was extremely nervous doing the shipment all alone. Everyone seemed pretty happy here....I was meeting other customers and seemed so chill as we waited for our ride pickup up etc. Thank God for Matson and their smooth operation...I'm know many people will need more cars after the huge loss on Maui....I'm suggesting and praying Matson will help with fire victims and give same as military discount or priority shipping so these fire victims can go " back to normal!"

God knows how much I hate this company. They are the greediest company I’ve ever seen. First of all, they overbook. I dropped off my car on July 28th at a broker company called American Auto Transporters in Canton, MA. The latter company told me that it would take 3 weeks to 30 days for the car to arrive in Hilo. According to AAT, the car arrived in California on August 6th and was supposed to be shipped on the 9th but it wasn’t because Matson was overbooked. Matson website showed Sep 22nd as the final arrival date but I finally got my car on October 2nd which means it took 67 days. Their customer service agents were rude. They kept telling me that they would let the broker know when the car is delivered and the broker kept saying it’s Matson’s responsibility to inform the customer. It was a mess. Then the car came with a hole in the tire. I guess it arrived with a flat tire but they put air into it because the pressure was low when I received it. I thought it was only air but I got a flat tire a few days later even after putting air in it twice. I paid the first company $3900 to deliver my car from Canton, Ma to Hilo, HI and waited 67 days and made 100 phone calls and received a flat tire at the end. Avoid Matson if you have another option.

The absolute WORST shipping port ever. We got here at 9 AM and got our names called at 10:30 AM. The workers move slower than turtles, absolutely no urgency whatsoever. Other customers left because they took so long. Never ever shipping a car out of here again, I’d rather buy a new car than ship my car out of here. I’m not one to ever leave a bad review but this was absolutely ridiculous!!!
