We hired Mogovolt to replace all knob and tube wiring in our 100 year old home in Queen Anne and update all outlets and switches with new brass hardware. Additionally, we upgraded our overhead service to 200 amps and installed a new larger panel and hardwired all smoke and CO detectors. I got quotes from a number of local companies, and while all were close in their pricing, Mogovolt’s came in a bit lower, with a number of very strong referrals from neighbors, as well as Homeowner’s Club. This project ended up being a more complicated project than we anticipated, because old houses have secrets- ours happened to have a lot more active knob and tube than we had originally anticipated when we bought the house. The Mogovolt team from start to finish was incredibly detailed in their estimates, explanations and ideas for updating our wiring with not just solutions that we liked, but were well-thought through, up to code aligned with new building standards. Communication was outstanding- even when I didn’t understand something they took the time to explain different decisions and possible solutions. The team was incredibly polite, tidy and thoughtful in our home. Adi and Ben were always very communicative and gave us great morning and end of day updates- additionally they were happy to talk through solutions and explain, and reexplain more than once a number of tricky decisions we had to think through and understand. The whole team is clearly very experienced, detail-oriented and extremely professional, they kept each of their work areas clean and organized daily. I would not hesitate to hire them again for any electrical work big or small. This was a huge job and put so much effort in from the beginning to end, I really can’t recommend them enough.

Before hiring this company GET MULTIPLE QUOTES! They came in at 4 times the cost of the next quote and had a huge attitude when I was surprised that their quote was so high. Edited to respond to owner: Mogovolt did no clarifying or working with me when I voiced that $2,000 to move 2 outlets seemed unreasonable. In fact, the employee got combative and claimed "this is what it takes to get the job done, bud". The only time Mogovolt tried to walk me through other options to accomplish the job without paying an obscene amount was after my negative review went up. Mogovolt then proceeded to contact my building to tell them that I would be unable to find anyone to do the work for less. Their competitor not only completed the job beautifully, we're much kinder, and could not believe the amount Mogovolt was attempting to charge. The core of my review is this "get multiple quotes" and "I would never hire Mogovolt again". These are understandable statements that do not require the pushback that Mogovolt uses. I am beginning to majorly doubt the authenticity of their positive reviews.
