Skilled Team, But Concerning Management Practices. Moore Mechanical has a strong plumbing department with great teamwork and leadership at the field level. Unfortunately, upper management has made decisions that have hurt morale and trust — including removing paid drive time, bonuses, and other wage incentives. When employees raised these concerns and discussed organizing for fair treatment, management was unreceptive and made statements that appeared to go against basic labor law protections. The plumbing crew has since gone on strike due to the lack of fair compensation and recognition of our rights as workers. We believe Moore Mechanical can become a better and more efficient place to work — and a stronger contractor overall — if the company acknowledges our representation by UA Local 174 and negotiates a fair contract with its plumbers.

I have worked for Moore mechanical for 2 years and cannot believe how this company has operated. They have been unorganized, uncommunicative, and unfair. Moore has the opportunity to better itself and it's employees by recognizing Local UA 174 representation of a majority of the plumbers of Moore Mechanical in Grand Rapids. The frustrations the company builds in its employees results in the employee walking away and the company continues the companies unfair labor practices. On top of that, the few that have stood up to the company are being shunned or even worse, fired. Day after day I have seen the company continuously hurt the moral of their workers and yet they seem so apathetic to why their workers wish to form a union. It's time to recognize local 174 so their workers can learn and grow the company.

This is a great company to work for the knowledge of the install plumbers is pretty top notch. the only thing that would be better is if they would come to the table and bargain with local 174. We want to continue doing great work for this company. With the backing of the union we could grow this company into a spectacular mechanical contractor. Moore Mechanical Grand Rapids branch has a contract to do business with our clients but why don't they have a contract with the plumbers they employ what are they afraid of?

As someone familiar with Moore Mechanical, I feel it’s important to share that the company has developed a troubling reputation regarding its treatment of workers. Reports and employee accounts suggest that management engages in unfair labor practices, including refusing to recognize or negotiate with a legally organized union. Workers have expressed frustration over a lack of respect for their collective bargaining rights and over management’s reluctance to address legitimate workplace concerns. This approach has led to low morale and high turnover, which can ultimately affect service quality and reliability. If you value ethical business practices and fair treatment of employees, it may be worth considering these issues before choosing to work with or hire this company. A healthy workplace culture built on fairness and respect benefits both employees and customers — unfortunately, Moore Mechanical still has some work to do in that area.

They really came through for me! Same-day, friendly service. Background: My AC went out and I had to call around to see if I could find a company that would, hopefully, come out same day - in Michigan's literal hottest week of the year so far. I made an appointment with a company ( I won't name drop ) and after waiting an entire day for them to show up, they ghosted me. No show, no call, no text. Scrambling, I called around the following day and the scheduler for Moore not only said they could do same-day, but even apologized it would be "late afternoon". Are you kidding? This was wonderful news! Antonio showed up an hour earlier than expected and saved the day. My bar was probably pretty low after having such an awful experience with another company leaving me hanging, but it was a pleasant surprise to not only have them come out same-day, but also deliver a quick repair going above and beyond. Antonio was friendly too, and seems to be a really hard worker, pushing late hours to help out customers in need. A bit at the mercy of their scheduling team, you know what he didn't do? Ghost me like the other company did. Even if the situation isn't ideal, he showed that a company can be professional and stick to their promises. Shows he cared. You all are doing it right.

Very poor decision by Moore plumbing and heating. Lowe’s brought in a team of Islanders to install a new washer and dryer. They stepped on the baseboard and broke the waterline to the boiler. Then he wants to charge me $500 for a $175 TACO pump! After looking at the boiler, you could tell he just wanted to leave. He got mad as if I installed the damn boiler! When I told him I’m not an 80 year old lady that just got off the bus…he said "I can leave right now". I should have showed him the door. He was supposed to look at the damage and give me an estimate for Lowe’s for $99. After his lecture he charged me $276! That’s not what I agreed on with Moore’s office before he came. The boiler was running fine and it’s cleaned every year. Since Lowe’s showed up it’s now looking like a $3,500 job but he will only replace the baseboard and maybe…just maybe, he might replace the burnt out pump as well. Moral of the story? Stay away from Moore’s boiler guy.
