This is one of the worst companies ever. Whoever is in their billing department is incompetent to say the least. First the company was good at first. I enjoyed their fan discount program that will save you a few dollars a month. That's the ONLY thing good about them. My bill for June was due on the 2nd and my lights were disconnected on the 5th with no disconnect warning or letter which is mandatory according to Texas law and the PUCT. They have violated both. When I called on the phone on the 5th of June to see why the lights were turned off, they stated that "it was a mistake." I was placed on hold for almost 30 minutes. While I was on the phone waiting for the rep to come back on the line I received an email from them for a disconnection of services. They were trying to cover their own asses at this point. When the rep came back on the phone she informed me the lights would be turned back on and they were within the hour. On the 6th, the next day, I received another email stating that I would receive a formal letter for disconnect. I just received the letter on Friday June 20. After they had already disconnected my service twice. So again 3 days ago I receive yet ANOTHER disconnect notice for a bill that isn't due until July 2. This has gotten to be the most ridiculous situation with these people. I will be sending an email to Nicholas Chaset Executive vice president as well as emails to PUCT and the office of the inspector general. If I need to sue Octopus energy in court for anxiety and stress I have no problem with that . These people clearly have no regards for the laws of Texas or the laws of the PUCT. If anyone else is experiencing this please email me or send a message to start a class action law suit. This company should not be operating in Texas or anywhere else. The customer service people have no customer service skills at all to add insult to injury. I will be seeking another electric provider that obey the rules that are set for them. There are rules in place for a reason a reason Octopus energy, follow them. Update: The PUCT found that Octopus Energy did not follow the laws. They ruled in my favor. The responder from Octopus never did come back and update as they said so I will do it for them. This company should not exist at all. The customer service people sound like they are answering the phone from their home or in basements. Not one representative reached out and apologized for their faults or offered any type of accomodations. I switched providers because I no longer trust the company. Octopus energy lied and said they never sent out a disconnect notice for a future bill, and PUCT still knew they were lying because I sent them the email. This company has complaints in the US and in the UK. That's very sad and unfortunate for the company. I do not recommend anyone use this company. Some of their reps are rude,argumentative and have no knowledge or training in customer service. There are many providers including prepaid companies that are better than octopús. Use those companies. DO NOT USE OCTOPUS AT ALL!!! Read the reviews for yourself and stay away. I would only use these people as a very very last desperate resort.

Amazing, this company truly appreciate their customers! I have had the pleasure of speaking with 2 of the best individuals who have exceeded the call of duty! I unfortunately have a serious terminal condition. And customer service agents Jake Williams and Melissa Campbell have been nothing short of Amazing assisting me with the issues and reassuring me that no matter what this company has my back! This is very rare now a days and the company should value these 2 individuals who always step up and take care of their customers! But I'm sure they are ready realize how hard they work not only for the company but also for their customers. Bravo 2 you Amazing people You have a customer for life! I’m gonna keep this precise and simple. Melissa helped me out when the worst of worst situations happened. My electric was switched out from under me. TLDR: Melissa is the one. She got everything resolved for me when I reached out. Handled me with compassion, courtesy, and empathy. The only complaint I have after all of this… why isn’t she running the company? I have never had a better interaction with any electric provider in my last 11 years of life. Thank you sincerely!

I was excited to find this company, but I soon discovered that it is just like every greedy corporation. It abuses fine print and has no intention of building a long-term reputation. I set up autopay and did not review my invoices for a few months. Then I did, which I am glad that I did. I contacted them with: I am just now checking my bill, as the amount for two months has been higher than ever before. I saw that there is an "unconnected Smart Thermostat" fee. I was not aware of that, nor did I ever receive a notification or email alerting me to connect it. I went through the process and connected my nest today. I would like to ask you to kindly remove those high charges from my bills. The outcome was a resounding NO. I tried multiple times with back and forth, to no avail. I ended up switching and paying the early termination fee. I filed a complaint with the BBB, but they are not a member (which is a red flag), so they never acknowledged the complaint. Steer clear.
