(Antonio) aka Tony was absolutely amazing! He was helpful, patient, and able to answer every question I had. He quickly assessed the issue, figured out the best solution, and even made sure I got the best possible deal. He took care of everything the same day, followed up with my warranty services, and taught me how to maintain my new water heater — including how to drain it yearly. He communicated clearly throughout the entire process, worked efficiently, and didn’t mind the mess or my dogs. My flooded garage is now completely dry and organized, and I have hot water running again! Tony was friendly, professional, and genuinely great at his job. I’ve already recommended him and Payless Water Heaters to my neighbors in the nearby townhomes. If you need fast, honest, and reliable service, Tony is the person to call!

I had a leak on my old water heater and made a call the company. They picked up on my first try. They were very polite, professional and up front with me about a service charge to assess the issue before they came to my home. I was able to schedule service quickly within the next day and they were very good in communicating with me. Very prompt in showing up during their 2 hour time window. Sal my technician walked me through what he saw. Explained my options and answered all my questions. He was very polite and respectful and friendly. He did an excellent job and cleaned up well after he finished. The cost was a bit higher than I expected but it seems to be in the ball park with other places when I ran the numbers for material, labor, and a job well done. I highly recommend this company for water heater repair and replacement services.

Best place to get a water heater. Ours went out & we needed one right away. And of course it was Sunday. The Payless tech arrived quickly about 45 minutes from the time of our call. The price was very fair & they did not add any extra charge for doing the service on a Sunday. Our tech Dave explained everything he was going to do in an easy to understand manner. He was very nice and answered all our questions. He did a fantastic job. We couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this company .

We absolutely loved working with Ezequiel! This was our first experience switching out our water tank to tankless and Ezequiel went over and beyond to make this process so seamless. He was extremely thorough in explaining the process including rebates, permits, and maintenance. The water tank switch wasn’t easy either, but Ezequiel and his team made it work. We also had a great experience working with Joanne who walked us through the permit process. I 100% appreciate the earnest effort that was put into all of this - and quickly too! We had hot water running again in no time.

I reached out to Payless Water Heaters after reading many positive reviews. We were having trouble reigniting our water heater and, unsure of the cause, decided it was best to call in a professional. Our assumption was that something might be loose near the thermocouple or that we simply weren’t igniting it correctly. We didn’t want to tamper with it too much ourselves. They charged a $60 service fee to send someone out. The technician attempted to reignite the unit once, then quickly concluded that both the thermocouple and thermostat would need to be replaced. He stepped outside to consult with his manager, then came back and quoted us $700 for labor alone — not including parts. We were immediately skeptical and declined the repair, opting instead to get a second opinion. We contacted Tomas from Rasco Plumbing and explained the situation, including what the previous technician had diagnosed. Tomas quoted $185 for labor and agreed to come out right away. When Tomas arrived, he also attempted to reignite the unit. When it didn’t start, he thoroughly checked the surrounding wiring and discovered that one wire hadn’t been properly secured. After reconnecting it, he tried again — and the water heater turned on immediately. Tomas didn’t charge us anything for the service. I was extremely impressed by Tomas’s honesty and professionalism. I highly recommend Rasco Plumbing for anyone looking for trustworthy and knowledgeable service. Afterward, I called Payless Water Heaters to inform them of what had happened. The manager responded with, "It’s the luck of the draw," and added, "Your heater is old — they don’t even sell it anymore." "you got a professional assessment". i almost burst into laughther because calling it professional assessment is laughable. I explained that the unit had been replaced by the city on 12/15/2020, making it less than five years old. These units are typically built to last over 10 years. His response? "Oh, that’s why," delivered in a noticeably condescending tone — as if we were somehow at fault for having received a city-issued replacement. Bottom line is, if you choose to work with Payless Water Heaters, be aware that your experience may be hit or miss (Their manager's words), our issue was misdiagnosed and nearly cost us $700 unnecessarily. I’d be cautious using their service. And if you raise concerns, you may be met with defensiveness or even judgment. I'm glad I sought a second opinion — doing so saved me $700 and got my water heater working again at no cost.
