Purelight Power

We are extremely disappointed with Purelight with long delays, missed appointments, lack of communication, and failure to complete the solar installation project that we have already paid for through Purelight Power. Purelight Power has repeatedly scheduled installation and activation dates, including coordination with the electric utility to temporarily shut off power so the solar system can be turned on. However, appointments have been missed or rescheduled and any advance notice to us or to the utility company has still left Duke Energy to come to our home twice with no Purelight employees in sight. We have taken time off work and made ourselves available each time, only to find out after the fact that nothing was happening. Communication has become almost nonexistent. Multiple phone numbers Purelight Power previously used are no longer being answered. Some numbers go directly to voicemail, and others appear to be disconnected entirely. We have not received any updates, timeline, or explanation for the delays. At this point, we have paid for a solar energy system that is not operational, and we are being left without any method to reach the company to get the work completed. We want this issue addressed immediately, including: 1. Direct contact from a Purelight Power representative who can provide accurate status updates 2. Confirmation of a valid date for utility coordination and system activation 3.A clear and reliable timeline for final completion of the installation This experience has been unacceptable.

Purelight has been a pleasure to work with. My wife and I believe in the solar power industry and are looking forward to seeing our system perform in the future. The workers did an excellent job. They were respectful of our time and property and made sure we were happy with the system. If you’re considering Purelight for your install, don’t hesitate. I don’t think you’ll find a better contractor out there. Thanks everyone for powering our future!

EDIT: Branch manager claims that she is reviewing plans with foreman on 11/4 (so Ashley was trying to schedule us for the past two months while the plans were not finalized?! Makes no sense) 11/5: my husband receives a call from the county that they have been trying to reach anyone from that company and no one is picking up because they NEVER received a building permit before they started on the project. Hence, no inspections can be scheduled. No response or follow up from the branch manager when asked about the building permit. EDIT: here is the response provided from the email they suggested below to communicate with. That person claims that they can’t even address our needs but will do their best to reach the branch manager who hasn’t picking up for a week. Based on other recent reviews, this business is a scam!!! Unfortunately, similar to other reviews here, you have to chase them down for inspections. They will set up the system, damage your home as they did to mine, make promises, and then ghost you. My husband has been providing availability dates. No response. Potentially just automated messages . I think more people should sue them as we are currently looking into that so maybe then they can respond, respect others time, and complete their work. Shop elsewhere! EDIT: 2 weeks… my husband sending endless messages and emailed as suggested: NOTHING. No clue how this is a business

As someone posted just last week radio silence. My panels have been installed but now it’s been over a month they said they would be back in a week for permits and to turn on. Up until a month ago I had several different people calling me constantly on the verge of harassing. Now I have 4 names and phone numbers with no response. I called and text last week and someone did finally respond via text that they will have someone call me. Here we are a week later no call. I have called and text 3 different numbers today all 3 go directly to voicemail some without ringing and have text. You k ow who is calling me the finance company they used to finance the project so I’m supposed to pay yet I can’t get a hold of anyone and the panels aren’t operational.

Really great experience working with pure light. They were knowledgeable, informative and kept me up to date during the installation process.

I wish I would have done more research, my family is happy to have solar panels but I would recommend not going with the first person to knock on your door (Purelight got us). The people have all been nice but you will be able to get a larger system (substantially) at a lower price (by the thousands) by looking into smaller, local companies. We moved into our new build home and didn’t have enough data for our electric bill and didn’t realize how much that would impact our system. Due to not having many electric bills we have a much smaller system than our family needs. Once again please do your research so that you know what you need and what to ask (I didn’t). They are a company and need to make money and they did a good job of getting mine. It was a learning experience for us but I cannot recommend Purelight Power at this point. I hope solar energy continues to evolve and become more and more prevalent in the future and the installers can evolve with the technology and be more transparent to fit your individual needs.

Purelight Power did an amazing job installing solar panels at my home. Their communication was top-notch, the installation was efficient, and the team was professional. I’m very satisfied with the entire process and highly recommend them!
