Revel Charging Station

3.2

Revel Charging Station, located in Queens, presents a substantial charging hub with a significant number of stalls. It advertises a high-powered charging capability, aiming to provide a fast-charging experience for electric vehicles. However, users have reported issues with the actual charging speeds often falling short of expectations.

The facility’s pricing structure is also a point of consideration, and its overall accessibility and reliability have been questioned. The stall configuration, with separate areas for Tesla and CCS vehicles, occasionally contributes to congestion. Addressing these operational challenges will be crucial for a more positive user experience for all EV drivers.

The Revel charging station at JFK has potential — 24 stalls and fast charging (320 kW), but honestly, it’s not a great experience. It’s almost always crowded, and the pricing is high at $0.52/kWh + tax. There’s no discount unless you have Uber Pro, which leaves out a lot of drivers — not just Lyft or taxi drivers, but also regular EV owners who don’t do rideshare. Everyone pays the full rate, which makes it one of the most expensive charging spots in NYC. Plus, the chargers are split — one side for Teslas (NACS), the other for CCS — so if your side is full, you’re stuck waiting while the other sits half-empty. Sometimes the chargers glitch and only deliver 6–10kW, which wastes your time. They’re installing more, but it feels like they’re charging high prices because they know NYC has poor EV infrastructure and drivers have no choice. If you’re considering getting an EV in NYC, don’t — go hybrid instead. It’s way less stressful, no charger-hunting, and saves time and money in the long run.

Only got 44 kW, way under the 320 kW advertised. Waste of time!

The worst of the worst. Do not even attempt to charge here, just wait in like for the evgo. I started charging and i started at 32% after 10 minuets it went down 1% leaving me at 31%. Didn't think much of it but after 30 mins of charging i didnt go anywhere. I tried calling the number it provided but its out of service. Then I click on the graph it showed and it showed that im 1 hour I'll go up 1% its charging at 2kw/hr. I thought maybe it was just me and my car. Nope other people next to me was having the same issue. Waste of my time!!!

Some of the best chargers I've found in NYC and trust me I've looked all over. They are easy to interface with, the 4 times I've gone I've been able to find a free charger which isnt the case with any of the electric america stations (of course ymmv) and most importantly you ACTUALLY GET HUGH WATTS with these. I have a Fast charging Kia so with 200+ kws I can be in and out in 20 mins. Most places advertise 150kw but you really get around 80kw. Here I'm currently plugged in and getting 186kw, comfortably enough to get me from 4% to 80% in under 30 mins. Only reason I'm giving this a 4 and not a 5 star is sometimes the chargers glitch out and my first attempt to charge fails and the session ends. But everytime that has happened I just tried again at the same stall and it worked the second time. Not sure why that keeps happening but if that goes away it's a 5 star location for me.

Love this Revel location because there are a lot of charging stations onsite. Waiting time is short and charging speed is fast. My only advice for Revel is to have a coffee/snack stand within distance as New Yorkers like to have a cup of coffee and croissant while waiting. Looking forward to the new Revel charging site opening at the former Courtyard Marriott hotel location across from La Guardia Airport soon as it is only five minutes drive from my house.
