Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning

Mike, Luke and Daniel took care of installing a new Lennox Heater and thermostat at my house. They were knowledgeable, professional and efficient! Their communication was superb and they arrived right when they were supposed to. They helped me get my new thermostat synced with my phone before leaving and left zero mess behind. Would highly recommend!

I moved into a house where Service Experts had installed a new furnace just three years ago and it’s the worst installation imaginable. The issues are so blatant that it’s hard to see how they got away with it, except by taking advantage of the elderly prior owners. A few examples: * The furnace isn’t even connected to the return air vent, it just pulls air from the utility closet (see photo). * Filters have to be wedged into the ductwork with a metal rod after unscrewing the front plate—there’s no proper filter slot. * They used improper connectors to join aluminum and copper wiring, a serious fire hazard. There are even melted components inside the unit from installation errors. We now have to pay around $4,000 to have another company completely reinstall it just to make it functional and safe. Had my yearly furnace checkup with Leo and Barry brainstorming together on my numerous repairs needed on my aging furnace. Leo your meticulous eye for details caught an exhaust crack leaking carbon dioxide. I appreciated your hard work, expertise, and professionalism in your field of work, as well as Barry's helpful knowledge in the working performance on my furnace and hot water heater. You guys are a great team for Service Experts. I will ask for you guys next year.

Service Experts is a convenient but not inexpensive way to maintain our HVAC system. They increased their monthly subscription fee by 50% two years ago, and their bids for repairs are consistently high. On the other hand, their service techs are mostly first-rate. Leo, in particular, has admirably performed our semi-annual tune-ups / diagnostics and repairs for the past year or two. He's been great in letting us know when to expect him, has arrived on time, has conducted his business without drama, and is skilled at not only performing diagnostics and repairs, but also explaining potential and completed services. He engenders trust, which is essential when performing HVAC services that demand explanation when something goes wrong.

Update October 2025: Another great technician - Doug. The techs here have never disappointed. No sales reps along for the ride this time so I bumped the stars to 4. Doug was definitely 5+ stars! The technicians at Service Experts are top notch. Every one I've ever met has been truly fantastic - courteous, professional, non-intrusive - really a group of excellent people. Abel was my most recent Expert and I give him 10 stars! He went above and beyond to answer my questions, most of the time answering them before I even asked. Very smart, very thorough. ********** I only give 3 stars overall because the "Comfort Specialists", aka, sales reps, that now come with the technicians are very focused of up-selling. For a relatively minor to possibly medium problem with our AC unit, the sales person tried to sell a complete AC plus furnace - the furnace has no problems. Rather than suggest diagnostics and staging our repairs, the first suggestion was full replacement of both systems with top of the line upgraded systems far outside the needs for our home. Despite the fantastic service I've experienced from every single technician I've met over the past 2-3 years and my high level of trust and respect for them, I'm questioning whether to continue as a customer due to experiences with sales.

Delray called to politely request a 30 minute early arrival which I gladly accepted. He quickly and expertly diagnosed my issue (failed furnace gas valve). Then, after determining that the valve was no longer manufactured, was able to locate one at a downtown supplier. He then drove 20 miles downtown and back in rush hour traffic before completing the valve R&R and restoring my furnace to operational status. Finding that valve saved me on the order of $10k!! He was also very informative and patient with my questions. Five star service for sure!

My Service Expert was Nealon Smith, who obviously knows his stuff. He explained a couple of issues in my 21-year-old furnace and showed me some photos but also did not feel it was necessary for me to spend money replacing them at this time. I feel confident that my home will be warm this winter. Thanks!
