SHS Power

We had a fantastic experience with SHS Power. They’re extremely knowledgeable and really look at your long-term needs, not just the immediate install. They set us up for off-grid readiness and even installed a backup switch so if anything ever comes up in the future, we can go straight to the grid without any stress. The system is incredibly smart — it even monitors weather patterns and will pre-charge the battery overnight (when power is cheapest) if cloudy weather is coming so you’re never caught without backup. The crew was professional, the install was clean, and the communication every step of the way was excellent. It’s rare to find a company that plans ahead for you and genuinely cares about getting it right — we highly recommend SHS Power.

After two years of looking at vendors, I found SHS - a solar / battery storage installer I really like and trust. See in the photos the 1st electric bill after the installation. I had to underline May - there's no bar above that month because the house hasn't used any electricity from the grid since the day SHS switched on the system. Today, it was 90 degrees here in Escondido, CA. The AC was free all day and night, and I can set that thermostat anywhere I want! SHS was the 4th company to come out to the house and the only one that had the equipment brands I had heard about and that could move things along at a decent pace. They are a full-service energy company, not just solar and batteries. The company is veteran owned. When Blake first came to the house, I thanked him for his service. Blake, Nate, and Ralphy are incredible! They installed one 14kwh battery (See photo). Glad I didn't have to lift it! The whole system can go outside too. It was going to be too close to my trash cans so I asked for it to be inside. My home was built in 1993, and you wouldn’t believe what a mess Ralphy had to sort out in the Challenger service panel (circuit breaker box). What a rat's nest. Now it's clean and tidy with all new breakers. They helped me avoid installing those "Solar Ready" panels for $4100. I had my heart set on EG4 electronics inverters and batteries. SHS knows that product like the back of their hands. The equipment is hardened against EMPs. I hope never to test that! But it feels good to have. And during power outages, my family will be comfortable with lights, intranet, and AC (until it "load sheds" at 50% battery remaining). I chose the best reviewed solar panel to put on the roof - REC Alpha Pure RX. Ridiculously performant. More than anyone needs to spend to get the job done, really. But SHS goes through all that... what panels make sense for you. Specs: 13 REC Alpha Pure RX 460-watt panels EG4 12kPV Inverter - 12k watts of solar handling, 8 kilowatts production at 240 volts, color LCD screen, remote monitoring EG4 14kWh all-weather battery SHS also does battery retrofits into existing systems, which can make a difference depending on what NEM agreement is in play. SHS took care of permitting, which I absolutely refuse to do. I can't stand working with the county.... makes me miserable. SHS just did all that, and fast!

Blake and his team were great! They were attentive and thorough from start to finish. There are a lot of companies out there, but I went with Blake because of his professionalism, knowledge, and for keeping my families best interest in mind. Top notch customer service!

Very positive experience with this solar and battery project vendor. One tip for homeowners considering solar: there are many "brokers" who act as intermediaries between you and the actual provider. This is not one of them — they handle both project planning and execution. Great crew, clean install. It’s been about eight months since the work was completed, and I’m very happy with the results. Power was recently cut from 9 PM to 9 AM, and my battery backup handled it beautifully. The reduction in electricity costs has been exactly as predicted. I also really appreciate that post-sale support has been excellent. Highly recommended!

Blake, Dominic and the team did a fantastic job throughout the entire Solar Installation Process. I got an inverter, battery and car charger installed to augment my solar array by Blake and his team. From start to finish they had great customer service and I'm really pleased with the result. One of San Diego's best I was desperate to relieve myself from $1000+ SDGE bills every month. So I reached out to several solar companies to find a solution. I found many who were quite willing to overcharge and oversell. Imagine my surprise when I found a company who actually showed up to my house to talk through my power needs. Imagine my happiness when their estimate came in 10s of thousands of dollars UNDER the others. And, finally imagine the satisfaction of talking to an engineer from the company who help me make sense of the bid they made and how it would actually save me money. That company is SHS Power. I even had a whole home generator from the SDGE program, and they were able to integrate it into the system. GENIUS!!! Remember those SDGE bills I had? The system that SHS designed FOR ME has eliminated those bills completely!!! I am a solar nerd now, checking my solar system from the app, and laughing all the way to the bank! Thank you SHS Power!!!
