Alba Energy
Alba Energy, located in Austin, Texas, offers solar panel installation and system maintenance services. They are known for providing comprehensive solutions and appearing to initially deliver competitive pricing and understandable explanations of the solar process. A key aspect of their offerings includes battery backup options, providing customers with added resilience and control over their energy usage.
However, experiences following initial installation seem to be inconsistent. Some clients report challenges with warranty support and timely response to system issues. Maintaining consistent customer service and ensuring reliable long-term performance are crucial areas for Alba Energy to address for sustained client satisfaction.

We were very excited to install solar. Alba sells it well. We’ve had our panels for years. But we recently started to get a dip in our output. I’ll admit. I didn’t notice it. But once I did, I started reaching out to them. I get it. Reboot. So we went through that. They literally don’t answer phones. And they barely respond to emails. I’ve called. Written. Left voicemails. Warranty? What good is a warranty they won’t honor? The wiring they sold with the system appears to be falling apart. Great! Am I supposed to climb up there and fix it myself? So here goes another week with no response. Another week with partially working solar. Another week where I’m wondering if they’ll actually honor their warranty. Probably not. Do not even know what to do or where to go next. I’ll tell you. Go to the next company. Save yourself the hassle. I’ll probably have to get a lawyer.
I can’t say enough good things about the folks at Alba Energy. They were great to work with, always responded quickly and kept me abreast of what was going on. David explained the process in a way that I could understand. I’m very happy with my system. Having the battery backup gives me peace of mind. The phone app is awesome and shows me where the energy is coming from and going to and how much I’m using and the battery level - all in real time. And, Alba’s quote was considerably less than two other solar contractors I contacted. Some contractors are taking advantage of people, but not the folks at Alba. You won’t be disappointed.
Things started off good, but right around 6 months in my solar panels stopped working. It took 3 full months of Alba and Tesla going back and forth about how to actually fix my issue before I had solar again. Then despite me having to wait 3 months for a fix, Alba energy offered no form of compensation. I guess it’s just screw the customer in their eyes. So disappointing. You’d think that if it took you 3 full months to fix one set of solar panels, ad a business you’d want to do right by your customer, but that’s not how they do business. Good to know, and good to let everyone else know. If you have options at solar, look elsewhere. These folks do not care about you really.
We invested $30,000 in a solar array system from Alba Energy, and while the installation process was smooth, our post-installation experience has been disappointing. Our initial point of contact was Craig, an outstanding salesman who unfortunately has passed away. Craig was exceptional; he worked with us every step of the way, handled all documentation, coordinated with our contractor to get the right angle for our carport installation, and assisted us with the solar credit information for our accountant. We can't say enough good things about him. Our array performed well for about a year, but then a couple of panels failed. We attempted to contact Craig only to find out he had left the company. Our new contact was Michaela, and the experience was completely different. Calls were not returned, and it took months before a subcontracted group was sent to do a warranty replacement on the panels. A non-producing panel equals money lost and a decreased return on investment, which solar is sold as. After another five months, three more panels went out. Again, contacting Alba for warranty service was a nightmare. Calls and emails went unanswered, and Michaela's occasional promises to get someone on it led nowhere. After months of frustration, we finally contacted another Enphase installer who could help. We transferred our warranty to them, and they promptly replaced the panels. Since then, our system has been running strong. Unfortunately, Alba Energy fits the mold of many companies that plague the solar industry. They'll sell to you all day but abandon you when you need service. You're on your own.
I hired Alba to remove and reinstall my Tesla panels so I could have the roof replaced. Tesla was a pain to deal with, but Alba was great and made it as easy as they could. Communication was excellent and the crew that came out was top notch. Very respectful and genuine. They left my property in better shape than it was when they got here. If I ever have to do anything with solar again, Alba is who I’ll call.
This was the year for solar for my wife and I. Cost of equipment is down, City of Austin rebates are still high and Federal Tax Credit is still 30%. We started looking and talked to the 4 major Solar installers in Austin. Circular Native Longhorn Alba (circular joined Alba) After talking with all of the Solar installers, 2 stood out. However we went with Alba. Alba was able to work with our flat roof, and offer high a quality design and also got very in depth with us on our questions regarding calculations, layout, and installation. During the installation I happened to be around. All of the installers were super friendly and very knowledgeable. They actually stopped what they were doing to talk to me, and explaining how it was all connected and worked. They even gave me their wiring schematic and said they could print off another one. These guys busted a@$#!. The system was installed in a few days as they worked between the rainstorms in May and all inspections passed 1st go around. I cannot say enough how happy we are with the overall system. It was delivered faster than expected per schedule, it is producing an amazing amount of power, and we are at ease with having a warranty covered by such a large company as Alba energy. We wouldn’t have changed anything! I'd be more than happy to speak with anyone regarding our experience. If you're interested talk to Alba and they can get you in touch with me 🙂 Thanks Alba !! -Penningtons
Received quotes from 3 companies. Alba Energy was the most responsive and it felt like they genuinely cared about my request and wanted to make sure all of my questions and concerns were covered. Once I decided to work with Alba Energy the process was very seamless and minimal work on my part. There was only one snag with a product that was D.O.A., and they quickly got a replacement and finished the installation. Only a few days in, but so far I am very happy with the results. I will update my review after a few months to add anything additional.
