Solar Optimum I would highly recommend finding a different solar company. I rarely write reviews, but this has been the most frustrating experience. I am an existing solar optimum customer. I had panels installed 4 years prior. Initial experience went fairly smoothly. But I am now looking to upgrade my system. Looking to add more panels/battery and a nonexport system to help with increased demand from my household. Spoke very quickly with sales representative. I was being charged WAY above market rate at 4$/watt. Sales person mentioned they would let me know 24-48 hours after initial meeting about price matching (given this had been the highest quote I have seen). But I still wanted to continue the existing relationship, so I gave them a chance to get back to me with a more reasonable quote, they said they would price match existing quotes from other companies. I had not heard anything for 48 hours, so I called. I did not hear back, I called again 4 additional times (each person stating I would receive a callback as the sales person was in the office). I sent an email, and no response. I called a 5th time stating I want to work with someone else as I had not heard back in 10 days. The sales manager would be calling me back in 10 mins. They never did, after 2 hours I decided to call a 6th time. I FINALLY got through to the sales manager. He forwarded everything to their "team" to help with the quotes/adjustment and moving forward. I was told I would receive an update that day. I never did. I explained to them many times, I don't mind if it takes extra time to figure out next steps or if they are behind, but I just want communication that someone is working on my case, they assure me they were. now it is 14 days past initial consultation. I have not heard anything, no calls, no emails. Like I said, I rarely ever leave reviews, but this is beyond a bad experience. I would HIGHLY recommend using another company. If this is how they treat their existing customer, and returning customer, I honestly would not have faith in them going forward. As frustrating as it is, I will be finding another company which makes it more difficult on my end. I would choose your first solar installer wisely.

Rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I sent my utility bill the moment Allan’s team asked for it. Joseph clearly did not read it and spoke to me like he was doing me a favor. When I questioned the quoted average of $342 because it did not match my SMUD bill, he replied, "That’s what you provided and it is from SMUD." That is not an explanation. That is lazy. I have every right to ask questions. Instead of answering, they got defensive and rude. If they cannot do the job, they should not take it. Joseph said lokks like you are not intrested and muted the call, worst service. This was a complete waste of time. I am honestly surprised Google is recommending this company. Truly eye opening in the worst way. Avoid if you expect basic respect, accuracy, or professionalism.

I am very happy that I have started my solar project with Solar Optimum and with a very competent team. I was delighted with project management from start to the end. Very efficient and well organized within short period of time. My project included 12 REC410AA Pure-R with Enphase microinverter and an Enphase 10T battery with backup option with a competitive price. Solar Optimum surveyed the house roof with drone for best location in respect to sun and shadings, and they filed for the available solar rebates. I felt I was in good hands.
