Southern Energy Water & Air has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on over 103 reviews on Google
I'm not sure what happened to this company!! I have tried calling several times and left a message with the same lady's voice-mail under every option. I purchased my system several years ago and service WAS really good and NOW it's vanished. Customer service is not like it use to be. God bless this country!
We had a Rain Soft soft water system put in last May. Southern Energy's rep was excellent, knew his stuff, and answered our many questions thoroughly, without sales pressure The installation was smooth and efficient, and the crew accommodated my requests for relocation of the units without a fuss. Our later inquiry regarding an aspect of system operation was handled professionally and quicker than any company I've ever dealt with. They continue to check in with us to make sure everything suits us. We highly recommend Southern Energy! July 2023: One of the tanks sprung a leak, and SE replaced it under warranty,.... good service!
I have had the pleasure of doing business with Russel and his team of professionals. It started a little less than a year ago with a reverse osmosis system for the kitchen sink. I was not ready to jump into the whole house system at the time. I wish I had. Fast forward, and I completed my system to the whole house filtration/softener. The team showed up - Tommy and his partner installed the system with professionalism, efficiency and expert knowledge. I am more than pleased with the entire process and the system I purchased. I now have a system that removes everything that I do not want my family to ingest, breath (chlorine aerosolized), drink (all the minerals and fluoride) as well as the improvements to the hard water on shower glass, softer water for our bathing, clothes, etc. I had a system before in FL, but, the difference is incredible up here with all the additives (natural and utility system). I cannot recommend Russell and his team more!
I have called this company five times in the last two weeks and written them an email with no response. We purchased a system from them six years ago that needs maintenance. They have not been out to maintenance our equipment in two years and no one returns your calls.
I'm not sure what happened to this company and whether it was taken over by new ownership but customer service and service in general now SUCKS BIG TIME. I have a Rainsoft Water Softener system and asked for a service to be performed when water started collecting in the salt tank. Tech came out and made the problem WORSE (next day garage had water all over floor AND somehow the salt in the tank backflushed into the house plumbing (I had drank some water and immediately spit out because it tasted like the ocean). Called multiple times but no one picks up, had to leave numerous messages, finally got call back saying to bypass system and owner himself would come to address problem following Tuesday (this was Friday). Still waiting for someone to show up and again repeated calls go straight to answering machine with no one returning them in a timely manner. This was ONCE a good company. Customer service has fallen to nonexistent and I do not plan on every using their services again. ADDENDUM: The owner of the company, Russel, did personally come to my property and address the issue I believe the day after I was originally told (Wednesday). I have not had any issues since then, so I will raise my initial 1 star rating to 2 because of it. However the initial debaucle with trying to contact somone at the company to address the problem the day after service when the issue happened precludes me from giving it a much higher rating. Addendum 2: I appreciate the response (below). So far no issues and knock on wood won't have to go through that ever again. Just to confirm, the multiple phone calls were made during normal business hours (during weekday and not over the weekend). I can't remember the exact day but the first flurry of unanswered calls was I believe Thursday or Friday, and then I waited til Monday and Tuesday to resume my calls (I just took the rainsoft system offline so I could at least have usable water during the time). And the water was definitely not temporarily salty. It was like drinking from the ocean directly and only went away after I took the system offline. When I put the system online it came back (hence I called the Huntsville Rainsoft dealer to come and fix it)
I paid $8,000 to have the wrong water filtration system installed by this company. No, really, Southern Energy Water and Air came to my farm house in spring 2020. We are on a well system, not city water. Their tests showed high mineral content in our water. We could also see discoloration to the porcelain in our toilets and sinks, our white laundry was a not so white, and there was build up around our faucets. They recommended a whole house filtration system. As a certified Rainsoft dealer, we trusted them and they installed an $8,000 system including a whole house filter, water softener, UV light and under sink reverse osmosis filter for drinking water. Fast forward to now, 2024. Our water flow is restricted and down to a dribble if more than one thing is used at a time. There is once again build up around faucets and toilets and sinks and laundry. Now when I call for service at Southern Energy Water and Air, they never answer the phone. They eventually call back but don’t leave a message, then blame their phone system when ask why it’s so hard to reach them. All phone options lead to the same person’s voice mail. I finally got a guy to come out and check it and he replaced some filters and did normal service. I asked about the issues. He said he would have to come back and showed me how to turn things off to test it myself. After he left I had a new leak under the sink where he replaced a filter. it took 3 weeks for him to come back. Because they don’t answer their phone and we had the back and forth thing going. Still didn’t have what he needed to figure out problems when he did come back to fix the leak, even though I specifically told them when I made the appt that the system was restricting water after we tested it and asked them to be sure to be ready to repair it. So he just tried to fix the leak. After he left, it leaked again. 3 weeks later, still can’t get in touch with them. I gave up and went back to Rainsoft website and found a new dealer who came today. Today I learned: 1) Southern Energy Water and Air is no longer a certified Rainsoft Dealer. No one told me this when I made the recent appointment. 2) In 2020 they installed a QRS system on my house that uses well water, even though that is a system designed for city water systems to filter out chlorine. Well water doesn’t have chlorine - it has lots of minerals that will clog up a QRS system, which it has done. My house should have had an Oxy tech system installed, which is designed for well water. 3) My new certified Rainsoft supplier quoted me $4244 for this Oxy Tech system that I really need. 4) I now know why Southern Energy isn’t calling me back and is dragging their feet. I’m not finished. I plan to go to battle on this. I trusted the name and the "experts" and feel like I’ve been robbed. Please don’t hire this company.
Southern's plumbing services are the best! The response time was super quick, the estimates were accurate and honest, the communicated concerns and resolutions, the cost was reasonable, and the work was superbly done. My clogged drains were resolved, my pipes were replaced, and the whole bathroom installation made the bathroom one of my favorite rooms in my house! Now I know who to turn to! I give my highest recommendation!
