I’ve owned a 10kw almost 8 years now and I must say it has not been as great an investment as I was led to believe. We just don’t use enough energy to benefit from savings generated by the panels. Any excess, if any, that is credited by PUD is quickly exhausted by October. With pacific northwest weather, there just aren’t enough sunny days. The SunPower micro inverters are not durable and quickly deteriorate, reducing power output but until they fail outright, you have to live with decreased performance. After SunPower’s bankruptcy, transitioning to Enphase monitoring was frustrating. After promptly purchase phases monitor, which cost $600, I attempted repeatedly to schedule installation via emails. Finally after 3 months, I called Enphase, spoke with a great customer service representative and was scheduled within a week. The new monitor was just installed only to find none of the Sun Power micro inverters are not compatible with Enphases system so I cannot determine via the app if any or all the micro inverters are healthy. Enphase did promise diligent monitoring and I could call anytime for a health check. So far, I’m very pleased with Enphase but given past maintenance issues with this 42k system and SunPower’s bankruptcy, I definitely would have deferred installation of a solar panel system had I known then what I do now. I was led to believe the system would add value to my home but on a recent appraisal, no value was attributed to the addition of a solar system. I realize some buyers may see it as an asset but others may also view it was potentially a logistical negative. I’m still for clean energy, I just recommend making sure it is a good fit for your needs.

4.9 stars, few years later and still loving our SunPower system. We went to 2 of Andy's community talks before taking the plunge and couldn't be more impressed with his mastery of all things solar. During install the techs were courteous, clean and professional. Other contractors that have visited since remark on the quality of work. ONLY downside- Michael didn't measure our roof correctly, by a long shot, but fortunately one of the techs noticed mid-install and was able to shift the entire system to allow for more panels. $12k in additional panels. We're happy for the extra solar, but talk about unexpected costs! Overall very pleased.

I have done a lot of business with a lot of companies over my many years of home ownership. When we first started considering adding solar to our home I did a lot of research. After the research we decided to go with Power Trip Energy. From the first phone call through the install this company is nothing but professional, honest, knowledgeable and fair. I am rather "picky" regarding how things are done around my home and these folks exceeded my expectation at every turn. One of the reasons I had chosen them over another company we were strongly considering was some reviews I had read about them. I felt obligated to add to the positive reviews and truly wish there were more honest and dependable companies like this to work with. Great job Power Trip!

My partner and I had been considering solar for a while. I did a lot of research into several different companies and decided to go with Power Trip for several reasons. For starters, they actually came out and looked at the property, rather than just using a computer generated model. Further, they answered all my questions promptly and were honest and fair in their quotes. The system has been stellar since we had it installed in August 2022.

Power trip Energy was a real pleasure to work with for my solar installation in Port Ludlow, Washington. They explain every step of the way - patiently. Their installers are professionals and perfectionists. I really appreciate high quality work and their installers’ work was top notch. The electrical inspector said they did "great work" too. The office staff gets to know you and you feel the personal touch throughout. They installed a 7.7Kw solar system for me and the car charger. I’m pretty picky about workmanship and they definitely delivered - all the way through the handoff and system explanation. It’s nice to meet a company so passionate about their mission to bring solar power to the Olympic Peninsula.

Best thing I ever did to my house was to add solar. This company was awesome! Professional informational and knowledgeable when it comes to solar. I highly recommend to family friends and even enemies!
