Beware of Evolution Solar – Dishonest and Untrustworthy I wish I could give zero stars. My experience with Evolution Solar has been extremely disappointing. Initially, George Tannous came across as professional, but that quickly changed once the project began. It became clear that corner-cutting was part of their process. Throughout the project, I encountered numerous misleading statements—not just from George, but seemingly reflective of how the company operates overall. The positive reviews they have online are hard to believe after my experience. I’ve documented messages and interactions that speak volumes about how they conduct business. The person handling their accounting, who appears to be a co-owner, was particularly difficult to deal with—unprofessional and evasive, especially when issues arose. They breached the contract multiple times, frequently shifting blame to suppliers or other third parties instead of taking responsibility. Thankfully, I identified problems early on and kept a close watch on the project. Because of that, they had to redo parts of the job, which likely cost them more—but it shouldn’t have been necessary in the first place. They even tried to remove battery parts that was included in my original order, claiming it wasn’t useful. That decision should be mine, not theirs. I’ve also posted a detailed review on Yelp with photos and screenshots to warn others. Be very cautious if you’re considering working with Evolution Solar. In my experience, this company is not trustworthy and does not operate with integrity. I made a payment date error and see for yourselves, his text message threats, this has been the entire experience. The Adel person in accounting, I bet he has not accounting degree or experience, I see it in his billing and money hungry and no customer service, everything ends with a lawsuit or lien threat. Overall a very good experience. George was knowledgeable and forthcoming. I felt comfortable throughout the whole process. George took care of all the complicated details of the installation and subsequent inspections. His installers were respectful and professional. I highly recommend this company.

Evolution Solar installed a solar system on our house over 2 years ago. I just called Evolution Solar (George) for questions about monitoring. Everything was explained clearly, the team showed up on time, and there were no surprises. Best of all, we worked directly with George, the owner. That personal attention made all the difference. It was the best experience I have ever had with any contractor. Evolution Solar is a professional company with excellent customer service and long history in the solar industry.

I am thrilled with the services I received from Evolution Solar! I had contacted Evolution Solar to inquire about a solar system for my house due to a referral from a friend who used their solar system installation services a couple years ago under NEM 2. My friend was very pleased with the process with the company and strongly recommended that I contacted them. And what a recommendation it was! I did not know much about solar systems, but I had heard about the change of regulations from NEM 2 to NEM 3. I was surprised that the owner & CEO of the company, George, answered my call and had a great and informative conversation with me about the options and the most economical system configuration for my house based on my consumption. The whole process went very smoothly. Evolution never oversold the system and provided the best option for my specific case with the solar panels and battery system. The whole process from my call until the installation and Permission to Operate from PG&E took about 5 weeks. The system looks great and works perfectly. I have called them several times after the installations to ask questions about monitoring the system and every time I called, they clearly explained the monitoring and answered all my questions. I highly recommend Evolution solar without reservations. It was absolutely the best experience I have ever had with any contractor! Thank you George and company!

George even stopped by 3 weeks after the install to make sure everything was functioning properly. That level of follow-through is rare. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Evolution Solar again!
