The Solar Guys

We had an outstanding experience with The Solar Guys. Our energy production is offsetting our electrical bill, that was our goal. I received several quotes from several companies before we settled on The Solar Guys. What stood out for me was their time in the industry, knowledge and experience through the initial consultation with Mike through the end of the install with Cassie to make sure everything was working, app was setup and showing data. Given our install was going on a detached garage; we could build panels all the way out to the edge maxing out our install, vs a primary dwelling where you have to stay back 3 feet from all edges. Additionally, they installed higher end Enphase Micro-inverters and REC high efficiency solar panels. They blended in perfectly with the roof, most people don't even see them until I point them out. During the install, they realized they didn't have all the material they needed to complete the work, Dan, one of their head install guys or one his peeps had a guy drive halfway to Cedar Rapids to meet another guy for the parts, amazing same day service. If there were issues, they were proactive about addressing them and always kept me in the loop. We may expand our system or add batteries or integrate a gas generator solution. I would 100% use these guys again.

It is rare that I write a review to recommend a product or company. In this case I feel compelled to do so. My wife and I decided to add a solar power system to our farm. We decided on a ground mounted, battery back up, grid tied system. We wanted a system that would provide energy to our farm when there were power outages. We did our homework, and got several bids for our solar project. One bid stood out. Mike Reysack from The Solar Guys brought his A game. He was on time, knew his products, and was knowledgeable about all of the various federal incentive programs for alternative energy. His bid was very competitive, and he also helped us to apply for a REAP (Rural Energy Assistance Program). Mike worked very hard to help us through the process, which included extra work for himself. In the end it saved us a lot of money! The installation crew was punctual and polite. Dan, Addison and Soren were conscientious and respectful of our property, and cleaned up their mess every day before leaving. While Addison and Soren worked on the panel array, Dan and Jeremy worked inside to install our battery backup system. They went the extra mile to make me happy when I asked them to put the batteries in an inconvenient place that created more work for them. I knew I didn't need to worry about them when they passed the "dog test". Dogs are great judges of character. They wanted to hang out with the guys. 😉 The finished product exceeds my expectations. We are especially pleased with the monitoring app that allows us to monitor the system in real time. And the extra money we saved when the REAP grant was approved will make the return on investment come years earlier. We even got a personal call from Jesse, the owner of The Solar Guys, to make sure we were happy with the process and product. I highly recommend The Solar Guys! I gladly give them five stars. If you’re thinking about putting in a solar system, you should go with The Solar Guys. They have a very fair price. They use Emphase for their solar panels which are very high-quality. They’re very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. My electric bill is pretty much nothing right now. I’m actually making more energy than I am using so goes into a bank and then during the winter when it’s cloudy, that money is used to help pay for my electric bill. I want to put a shout out to Mike who is an owner and operator of The Solar Guys and also to Soren and Daniel who are installers The whole team worked well together . Thanks Solar Guys for a job well done.

Completed solar installation with the Solar guys and was up in Running by November of 2023. Mike Reysack provided a high information / no pressure presentation which made us leap for the investment. Sunny days now make my day even brighter when I realize we virtually won't have to pay for electric! I highly encourage solar but if you go solar, use The Solar Guys of Iowa!

I had a great experience with the Solar Guys. Soren was very friendly and helpful when it came to any questions that I had, and with keeping me updated with the status of the project. He sent a message to let me know when he would be arriving, which I appreciated. He was also right on schedule, not a minute late, very professional. A lady named Heather reached out to me more than once to let me know what needed to be done next in regards to the project, and helped to schedule times that worked for me, which was really great. I was thrilled that I didn't have to miss work for this project to be completed on my property, I just left acess to inside my house, and they went in and got the job done!

The Solar Guys did a great job installing our solar panels. Mike came out to our house and explained everything about the energy savings, how many panels we would need, how the system works. Very professional and knowledgeable about the complete process. The timeline and installation went smoothly and was done without any glitches. I honestly had a great experience start to finish. Rich was my initial contact, sorting out what I generally was looking for. Mike came out and did my estimate, and answered all my questions (including answers where could have sold me things I didn't need, but was honest instead). Soren and Daniel did my install, they were great with both me and my dog. Michelle in billing and Jen as the project manager were very quick in answering questions as they sprung up. The whole process was smooth, and everyone there was helpful and kind. Nothing but the best. Edit: Forgot to mention, help didn't end once the install was over. A few months later they contacted me and asked if I noticed a full row of panels was out (I had not.) They quickly sent someone to check it out and it was fixed within days of them noticing (squirrel ate some wiring). Top shelf support.
