Wake Electric Membership Corporation

Not a great experience moving into a new house and the company is refusing to turn on power after they said they would have it turned on. Imagine running a company that doesn't do what they say they were going to do. If mold grows in this house while we are waiting to move in, Wake Electric will be responsible for any and all damages. The appropriate legal steps will be taken if there are damages.

As Wake electric see’s and does not care about their customers here, I’m reporting of another outage from them. This is the second outage in the last week from the company. 1st one on 7/26/25 (the hottest day of the year) no email or explanation was given of why it took 12 hours to restore power. Now today 8/3/25 we have another outage. No explanation on their site and no warning that they are doing work. The company should be embarrassed as the charge top dollar for their services but never respond or call back any of their customers when we have complaints. The company is poor and the company should give refunds when the service you’re requesting is never met consistently.

Sucks that they came and did work in my neighborhood and trashed it. There are cigarette butts ALL over the place, all along our road. This is just a few. Super rude. Super unprofessional.

I have called and worked with Wake Electric several times in the past 6 months. Each time has been a pleasure as the employees who answer calls are professional, knowledgeable and personable. It certainly makes starting/ending service very easy.

The only power company in the world that goes out when it's sunny and pretty outside. Their are outages all the time and when they estimate a time for it to be restored go ahead and add 4 or 5 hours to whatever they say. Please believe if I had any other choice I would have changed power companies years ago. The rates are beyond ridiculous! They want their payment promptly by whatever date they set but we don't get our service restored within a reasonable amount of time and we should be compensated for the distribution of service with no bad weather around.

Thank you to Latoya Travers with WEMC I called in on December 14 to see when my power could be turned back on due to unfortunate weather that we had in August that completely destroyed my house. I let her know that we have something else on the property and we wanted to get started with having the power restored Latoya went above and beyond what she was supposed to do and she followed back up with me several times trying to get me answers. She was so polite, nice and courteous. I made one simple phone call and again,she went above and beyond of what she was supposed to do to find find out information for me.

Power outages occur on a monthly basis. Estimated restoration times constantly change. Updates are never timely and without another service provider, we are left in the dark!
