there is NO scientific evidence that whales beach themselves because of the frequencies. OBVIOUSLY the installation purpose will TEMPORARILY disturb whales. y'all need to do your own research before seeing a photo of a dead whale and going "omg.... WIND TURBINES killed this WHALE. "
A wonderful way to create an energy independent region here in New England! No more reliance on importation from elsewhere, decreased bills, and all they don’t disrupt the view from Newport as I was imagining! They look like little white sewing needles far away.
It's kind of sad that these things are making whales beach themselves. I was happy that they were environmentally friendly at first, but I've come to realize that dozens of whales and dolphins are now beaching themselves because of it. 23 dead whales have washed up on the East coast since December!! (Posting in Aug 23') Just very sad 🙁
Simply beautiful. to look at, like a beautiful ballerina jumping in the sky. For some people however, the beauty is in the money wind turbines save. In less than a 6 years 24.5/KWh looks like the bargain because many parts of RI already pay more than that today, for electricity that causes cancer, asthma, bronchitis and heart disease from dirty fossil fuel pollution. If you factor the medical cost of electricity, beautiful clean wind electricity is magnificent. Some people think they are "Smart" like former president Don who loves coal but hates clean electricity, pretending he does not understand the threat of global climate holocaust.
Wind turbines don't produce enough power for their cost or longevity. All the incentives are a poor investment in green power. clean cheap natural gas is the energy solution.
Best place on planet earth. Don’t believe the naysayers
Beautiful clean energy for Block Island and beyond. Ignore oil-company propaganda about whale impacts...this is heck of a lot better for whales than an oil spill
