Roland with the band repair shop was a phenomenal guy! My son's trumpet was needing repairs and he was very professional and passionate about trumpets, which made me feel like I found the perfect place for any trumpet needs I would have moving forward. He knew right away what was wrong with the trumpet, was able to fix it with great care and even greased any valves that needed it. He even added little buttons for the valves, provided new valve oil and grease free of charge! I could tell he was passionate about his job and I know we will be coming back for any and all needs from now on. Thanks Roland! The store was really easy to get to and had ample parking. The store seemed a little intimidating with all the different instruments at first but the store employee was very polite and directed me to where I needed to go. My husband loves guitar center so I think he would love visiting this store too!

We had a wonderful experience at The Starving Musician! Our clarinet had a sudden issue right before an important audition recording, and we brought it in for help. Their clarinet expert, Daniel, was absolutely amazing — he diagnosed the problem immediately and explained clearly what needed to be done. He told us that a proper repair would take at least a full day, but after learning that we needed the instrument for a recording that same day, he went above and beyond to make a temporary fix so we could still play and record. We’ll be returning soon for the permanent repair and full maintenance, but we’re so grateful for his expertise, kindness, and willingness to help on such short notice. Highly recommend The Starving Musician — and especially Daniel — for anyone who needs knowledgeable, professional, and truly caring instrument service!

I wanted to upgrade my keyboard. So my music teacher recommended I go to the Guitar Center. I went there today. My experience there was pretty good. However the price point I was looking at was relatively high and I didn’t like that the sales person kept telling me I could finance the sale even though I told him I would never use financing for a keyboard. So I went down the street to The Starving Musician. I am beginning to love The Starving Musician as much as I love my favorite used bookstore, Recycled Bookstore. I felt totally comfortable at The Starving Musician even though I am a novice musician. Alex answered all my questions thoroughly, excellently, and patiently, even though my price point was low and I had a lot of questions. I felt no pressure and no convincing, just honest support. I love that the sales people there do not work on commission. And I love the chance to recycle used gear. Next time I’ll go to The Starving Musician first!

I have been coming here for decades. They always take great care of my basses and guitars. From re-string to repair, they are always super knowledgeable and reasonably priced. Mike and Kevin, as well as the rest of the staff have been great!

Today I visited this store with no prior information, except that it buys instruments. I had a few instruments, a 1/16 violin, a flute, and an oboe in hand. I had so many memories with each of the instruments that I was worried it wouldn’t get as valued as it was to me. However, this music store was filled with love for music, with professional practitioners waiting for all kinds of instruments. I ended up selling all of them with a fair price, but I am more excited to buy instruments from them in the near future. Highly recommend.

They also offer a trade-in option, so if you have an electric piano or keyboard to sell, you can check with them. They sell all kinds of instruments, including guitars, flutes, trumpets, speakers, drum sets, keyboards, and electric pianos. Great place with an excellent selection of guitars and amps. Also a room for band instruments and I think I saw a sign that said they have rentals also. Nice room to try acoustic guitars also. Plenty of effects pedals and accessories for guitar. Staff was friendly and helpful. Has its own parking lot which was really nice.
