I've been thinking about getting a plumber's license in MA. After a little research, here are the steps you need to take. First, you gotta do some schooling - 550 hours in a vocational school. It's not just wrench-turning, you learn all the theory, codes, and safety stuff. Sounds boring but trust me, it's essential. Then comes the fun part - 5 years of apprenticeship (8,500 hours to be exact). Basically, you're shadowing a master plumber, learning the ropes, and documenting everything. It's like an extended paid internship where you actually get your hands dirty. There are three levels to this game: Apprentice (that's where everyone starts) Journeyman (the middle ground where you can work solo) Master (boss level - you can run your own show and train others) To level up to Journeyman, you need to: Finish your education and apprenticeship Apply through the state board Pass a background check (no sketchy past allowed) Pay some fees (because of course) Pass an exam that'll test everything you've learned Want to be a Master? Wait a year after getting your Journeyman license, do another 100 hours of education, pass another exam, and get your business papers in order. Oh, and once you're licensed, you gotta renew every 2 years, keep learning, have insurance, and stay updated with codes. They keep you on your toes. Test centers are in Boston, Worcester, and Springfield. From start to finish, you're looking at 6-7 years to reach Master level. Yeah, it's a commitment, but the pay is worth it. Edit: Thanks for the silver, kind stranger! Didn't expect this post about plumbing to blow up like a clogged toilet
A comprehensive hardware store, offering the full range of home, recreational and small business hardware/tools/equipment/painting needs. Voted as "Best Hardware Store in Worcester" for the past 15 years — a reputation that is confirmed by just visiting the store. Well stocked, organized and clean. Helpful staff.
This is the third time I've wasted my time coming here and it's closed. Today, Monday, at 9:10 am, it's closed and the map says it's open.
They charged me 39$ for 8 bags of mulch in the same time Home Depot sells 8 bags of mulch for 20$, big damn difference
A family-run hardware store that provides exceptional customer service and is always ready to assist with any project. The store is well-stocked, organized, and maintained with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. It is a pleasure to support this local business rather than large chain stores. They have everything you need to complete your project successfully.
Great place to get all your Hardware needs
