Interstate Battery System

I needed a battery for a classic car. The car had been modified so looking up the battery by year & make didn't nessisarily come up with the correct battery size. The attendant looked at the battery from across the room and said we have what you need. I was skeptical but he brought the battery out and set it next to the old battery. The size was identical. I was impressed, the gentleman knew his batteries. Slap it in the car. It fit perfect and fired right up.

I know I have a quality product. I trust the reputation of this battery. My complaint is with the customer service provided. I spent $144 on a battery and a week later I found the same battery at Costco for $73. When I talked to the sales person he couldn’t give me a significant reason why the battery they installed was $70 better then what they sold through Costco. The manager didn’t have the time to come out and talk to me to work out a compromise. I was told that even if I bought the battery sold by Costco and brought back mine they wouldn’t give me a refund because they considered the battery I bought from them used and in my words "spoiled merchandise". I can’t bring myself to believe that reasoning for refusing a refund to be rational. My goal in sharing my experience is to get the attention of someone who makes the business decisions at Interstate Batteries and to find a compromise. As it stands for everyone else reading this I recommend buying a Costco membership and buying your batteries with them because ultimately you will spend less for the same product.
