SolarCity
SolarCity, located in Draper, Utah, offers solar panel installation and related services. The company focuses on providing homeowners with access to renewable energy solutions, though navigating the process and resolving post-installation issues can sometimes present challenges. Clients should be prepared for potential complexities regarding property transfers and system maintenance.
While aiming to simplify the transition to solar power, certain aspects of service, including contract management and technical support, may require diligent attention. Potential clients should thoroughly research all terms and conditions and ensure a clear understanding of the installation process, warranty details, and ongoing system performance. Property ownership verification is also a key consideration.

I have very bad service with SolarCity. Today I talked to an employee from Solar, her name is Lisa. After over 30 minutes she still can't do anything to help. I try to talk to Manager or supervisor but take over 15 minutes still don't have anyone to talk to. Very Bad service. If you looking to have Solar for your home, look somewhere else which have a good service.
i have never ever in my life dealt with such a company. solar city admits they made an error in having a contract with a non owner of a property. we are trying to sell the property and have lost two customers already due to solar city being unwilling to remove the panels along with the mechanics lien on the property. Instead they want to try to "sell the system" to any potential buyer. We are now coming down to settlement on April 3, 2019 and solar city tells us they cannot remove the panels in time. The buyers do not want this system and do not want to deal with this company. How do we get these panels off legally in order to close on this property.
I made the horrible mistake of getting Solar panels from Solar City/Tesla. Through their faulty installation I now have to have my roof repaired and they told me that I am liable for it after I had one of their technicians tell me that it was their fault for not sealing a vent pipe properly. I could not be more upset with myself for using this company to get solar panels. I hope the review can at least stop 1 person form getting Solar panels from Tesla.
Getting solar panels feels like the worst investment I have gotten myself into. We wanted to go solar to produce clean energy and hopefully lower our energy bill a little. We were told that our panels would produce anout 80% of our power. We have had them up for about 3 months and they have been producing horribly! Solarcity has been out 3 times to fix the problem, but it never seems to have any lasting effect. I wish I had never gotten solar panels. I am now stuck with a 20 year loan on panels that don't seem to produce what was promised. Essentially I doubled my power bill because I'm still paying a lot of electricity and now have added a solar loan on top of it. They promise results, but I don't see any. They promise a production guarantee, but that doesn't help me pay my bills now. If I could go back I would have never gotten solar panels. Not impressed by solarcity and their promises at all!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! If only there were an option for ZERO stars or better yet, for NEGATIVE stars. I have been fighting with this company for 6 MONTHS and have gotten ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE. I purchased a home and PrePaid the Solar Lease at Closing. They took my $16K and REFUSE to provide a receipt for the payment (processed through my escrow company) and also REFUSE to provide a Transfer Document which reflects that I am the CURRENT HOMEOWNER. They keep sending me the SAME THING...a "transfer document" which still shows the PREVIOUS homeowner as the CURRENT homeowner and includes some weak comment that the PREVIOUS homeowner "MAY" sell the home to ME. The house was SOLD to me in Oct 2016. I am the CURRENT HOMEOWNER. Yet, there is NO DOCUMENTATION reflecting this. Furthermore, they REFUSE to provide me access to a manager via any means so that I might reach a resolution to this issue. Instead, they just KEEP SENDING the SAME WORTHLESS document. The definition of INSANITY?? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. BEWARE!!
These people have been the nicest company I've ever dealt with. They are always kind but not in the fake way that I've seen other employees do. They seem to genuinely enjoy their job. My install is still ongoing but as soon as mine is done I'll be sure to update this review.
I am excited for this company. They are associated with Elon Musk and that can't be a bad thing. I am particularly drawn to the new solar shingles which SolarCity will soon be installing. I feel the shingles will be the new thing in solar power
