I’ve been with BKV energy since we purchased our first home 3 years ago and I have never looked back. They are an amazing company who truly cares about their clients and I truly cannot express how grateful I am to be part of the BKV family! I have always had a great experience with them and prices are extremely fair. I’m always bragging to my family about how low my bill is, even in the summer when the AC is working overtime! I have and would recommend BKV to family and friends, it is a great company and I’m so glad to see it grow. There is a reason why BKV was voted top 3 Houston electricity providers, best of the best! ♥️

Unfortunately, BKV let me down. I really liked them at first. They had excellent customer service, and the bills were as they stated - the amounts were as stated. Later, there were issues with the account and the prices kept getting higher and higher even though I was doing everything right. The summer it seemed understandable until I started speaking with the agent. I then realized the fees (you know those "no hidden fee") they were increasing, and you know those simple rates. Wrong, they later came with changed rules which increased my bill from low $100's to $200 every month for a simple 900 rsf one bedroom. I could have dealt with the issues but over the last six months or so the customer service can't get it right and there is no one that knows how to figure it out. Today was enough. The awful hold music is a repeat of a screeching violinist player, and it is so loud on repeat so after sitting on hold for over 30 minutes, then having several reps over the last several times not understanding simple request I finally cancelled. I rarely was able to log in so those lovely rewards never happened because how could they when you couldn't take part in any of them because I could not get logged in. I requested they fix this after several calls, and they told me it would be 48 hours. I told them if they wanted me as a customer than they would need to expedite it and the supervisor didn't seem to care. They actually did do something, but it still didn't work. The tech dept. doesn't know what they are doing and BKV got too big too fast so now they are drowning while not taking care of their customers. I moved onto Trieagle Energy, and they have paid my cancellation fees, gave me a $50 gift card and the rates seem to be less. Hopefully, we will be building a partnership because that was the goal with BKV, but it just didn't work out.

So far the experience has been flawless. The phone support reps all speak clear English and the information they give is straightforward and CLEAR. It's refreshing to call a busines today and talk to reps without having to STRAIN to understand what they are saying. The pricing offered by BKV is more than competitive. I'm glad I swithched. Updated: 9/23/25: I just had another conversation with a BKV customer service rep about use of their website. The rep answered my question clearly and thoroughly...and pleasantly. The call was answered immediately, and I didn't have to listen to recordings telling me how important my call was. This company has its act together.

Poor customer service and a horrible company. Our bill was normal for the first 2 months, just like it was for our previous company, but after the 3rd month, it keeps going up and up each month. Even though we're doing the same exact things, on the same schedule, and routine, nothing has changed. They are the scammers in a good company profile.

3RD EDIT (Oct. 24, 2025): here we are, another mo later and promises made to resolve my issue to be able to enter my acct and pay, etc and this issue STILL hasn't been resolved. I have wasted so much time and effort on the phone speaking to people who say they are resolving it only to still not have it resolved. Here I am yet again going on several mo not being able to see my acct, energy use, etc. I'm at the point of hiring legal counsel as this is simply RIDICULOUS as a customer that I cannot access my acct. I will NEVER recommend this company. I will be seeking legal remedies for this matter. Empty promises and NOTHING being done, other than my time being wasted. I am very upset that i have had to continuously deal w this w no resolution STILL! PS: I don't want to just pay my bill I want to SEE the charges as a customer has the right to view. My rights as a customer have been inaccessible and this is UNACCEPTABLE. 2ND EDIT (Sept 2025): My issue of being able to login and pay is STILL NOT RESOLVED. Their online system is really archaic and user UNfriendly. i have wasted so much time just trying to pay my bill and still no success. Get with the times and update your online portal BKV. This is ridiculous! Original post (Aug 2025): this business has the worst website and bill pay site I've encountered in a long time. Very archaic. I've spent 30 min just trying to get into my acct to make a simple payment. No luck. Nothing I try works and of course their customer service is closed at 8 pm. Super frustrating. Get with the times! Their billing is not transparent. Rates may be lower but everything else about them is behind the times. No app to use to pay either. Really unhappy at this point.

BEWARE: Avoid these scammers at all costs!! After my initial 3-month plan, BKV charged me in the highest-priced variable billing rate (resulting in my monthly bill tripling in price for 3 months). They also lied, informing me by email that I was locked into another contract with them for 6 months. When I reported them, I found this was untrue!! Cancelled immediately. They are crooks and thieves! I would give BKV zero stars if it was possible.

This is a HORRIBLE company with HORRIBLE customer service. I'm not one to leave reviews hardly ever but I had to with this company, to hopefully help someone else from making the mistake of signing up with them. So last month I called them up to ask for a few days extension to pay my bill because I had just got laid off. They would only grant me ONE day, which was wild to me considering I had never missed a payment prior nor had I ever been late. What could I do. so I took the one day extension. well fast forward on the day before the one day extension, I'm at home when all of a sudden my power goes off. it's 100 degrees outside. I have my animals in the home. They didn't even honor the ONE DAY extension they had offered me!!! I called them extremely angry and they apologized and said they were so sorry. that their system didn't catch the one day extension. but that I'd have to pay my bill in full in order to get my power back on. so I was LIVID. I had to go get a loan just because they couldn't honor the ONE DAY extension. I got paid the next day so needless to say I was so mad. They didn't even want to do anything for me for the extremely horrible service id been dealt by them but after complaining to a supervisor for like 15 mins he gave me 20 dollar credit towards my next bill. So at least it was something right? wrong! because my next bill just came in and these people had the nerve to charge me a 50 dollar disconnection fee!!! even tho it was all their fault that my power had got shut off to begin with! so I called them up and they apologized and said that it was another mistake on their part. but get this. they said I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE 50 DOLLAR DISCONNECTION FEE AND THEN ON MY NEXT BILL THEY WOULD CREDIT MY ACCOUNT WITH 50 DOLLARS!!? I just about lost it. I couldn't believe, I honestly still can't believe, they think that I'm going to do that!! y'all made a mistake on my bill and added something you weren't supposed to and instead of just removing the 50 dollar fee from my bill they said no you have to pay it!!! the supervisor I was speaking with started to give me a little attitude because I kept telling him how are y'all going to make me pay for something on my bill that you guys put there by mistake? and he said well you would get the 50 dollars credited to your account next month so it wouldn't be like you were just Paying 50. I really lost it then. I told him that is not the point! what this company is doing is unethical and SHADY. it's extremely UNETHICAL and I'm just absolutely disgusted with this company. I told the supervisor that this company is not going to keep customers doing business the way that they're doing. he didn't care. so needless to say I definitely will be ending my contract with them ASAP, and going to another electric company!! and I'll be spreading this experience on every web site and forum that I can find to make sure that nobody else has this experience!! if I could vote 0 stars I would! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! edit: I also forgot to mention, the first 2 months out bill was normal like it had been with our prior company but after the 3rd month it keeps getting higher and higher and higher every bill even though we're doing the same exact things, on the same schedule and routine, nothing has changed. we've actually been very good about reducing our power usage because of these high bills but the bills just keep getting higher!! my bills have been in the 600 dollar range when in all of my 10 years of living in my house it's never been over 300!! this company is an absolute SCAM!
