I absolutely love this place! They have a great selection of rentals, hardware supplies, and an amazing staff that is beyond helpful and friendly! I go here almost weekly for any hardware supplies i need. A few months ago i made so many stops here trying to get my pipes changed out in the house, i went here just the other day for new address numbers for the front of the house, and today i will be going back as i need some caulk and couple other small things.

A fantastic resource for our community. A hardware store that provides support and guidance is a refreshing holdover from the pre-big-box era when service mattered. Alger Hardware & Rental has a decent selection to go with their superior service. And you can even get an ice cream cake on the way out!

Grew up in the neighborhood. Was literally the first cashier at Ken's Fruit Market. I was trying to fix my mom's mower, so I was looking for the right sized tool, a kind guy working there was helping me find a tool for me to purchase. He said to bring down the mower. So I did. The owner, Bill, yelled at the guy who was helping me to "get back in to help customers". I proceeded to try to find what I was looking for on my own. Bill then yelled at his employee, again, in the store. I hopefully humbled Bill, and will never return. That was mean, Bill.

Small hardware stores are a valuable neighborhood service! It helps make Alger Heights a walkable community with everything you need close by. Great customer service and advice here.

Very thankful to have this hardware store in our community - you’ll walk in and be greeted by someone who can help you. They always have everything I need. Makes this great place to live. A much more pleasant shopping experience than driving to a big box store further away.

Not many places will cut car keys if you bring your own blanks, very quick and they worked great!
