Customer Reviews
Ralph’s has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 based on over 461 reviews on Google
Ralphs is a nice store. I usually stop there on Sunday after mass. However, be careful if you bring a bike there. Last time I left my tire was losing air and went flat. There was a man sitting out there. I did treat him and someone else to a few zingers a few Sundays back but haven't since. Let me just say, I wasn't feeling good about parking my bike there.
A friend of mine was in the store today. It was said to me that they have started cutting the meat paper thin. An labels are in Spanish. Everyone doesn't speak Spanish and don't like the meat paper thin. Not returning to the store.
Edit: unfortunately I’ve had to edit my review. The last time I visited Ralph’s, I overheard either two employees or an employee and a customer talking poorly in Spanish about the white people, "gringos", in the store. If they had just been commiserating over white people issues in general, I wouldn’t be concerned, racism is real and deserves to be discussed, but they were talking about the people just trying to mind their own business and shop. The guy who might have been a customer was doing most of the talking, almost reassuring the employee with "no worries, they only understand English." You really shouldn’t assume people only know English in a country where Spanish is spoken by 42 million people, especially in a Hispanic grocery store. Really awesome place for produce and meat, they’ll even take the time to cut your trozo de puerco into pieces if you ask. Certain packaged goods are a bit pricey comparatively, but I left it at 5 stars because it’s not a large chain and it makes sense that imported goods would cost more. An example is the cream carbonara flavor of Buldak ramen, which I actually can’t find in larger grocery stores. The employees are incredibly friendly and patient, and this might sound old fashioned, but even other customers take the time to smile at you. I’ve started buying most of my ingredients here just because it feels a lot more friendly than bigger stores.
Customer service is always great. Always greeted with a hello. I love the meat counter and the veggies are always fresh. I always get the fajita meat and the extra garlic kielbasa.
Hours are not as posted, it is between the holidays, but closing at 6:00 on a Friday kind of ridiculous, but they do have the best kielbasa in town and meat counter is great also.
My favorite ever place to get food, and if you like pop they have these epic 3 liter pop that has real sugar, as well as 1 liter glass bottles. Amazing place with amazing selections!!
Nice urban grocery store - prices for most goods aren't horrible, though they tend to be a bit marked-up when compared to other places - though I've found them more competitive when it comes to meat and produce. In this case, it's all about location, location, location. It's incredibly convenient to be able to pop here quick when there's some ingredient I don't have. I appreciate that there's bike parking out front, though I with they were more of the permanently installed U-style bike racks instead of the grid-style rack they currently have.
