This review is specifically for Will W the salesman and Kaylee T in finance. Will was a tremendous help. Unlike a previous store I visited, Will listened to me and heard what was important, he was polite, informative, and not pushy (pet peeve of mine). As for Kaylee, hats off to her. This woman knows finance and what she's doing. She was so kind and kept me updated on progress every step of the way as we had a few hurdles to get over. Best part was that she's honest, you know exactly what your paying for with her, no hidden fees no BS, just facts. In the end, Kaylee was the one who made this purchase possible in my opinion and I'd make the drive again just to have her as my finance person. Thanks Will and Kaylee yall are literally the best.
Went to pick out my very first camper from camping world in kc. Drove 3 hour one way to see what they had to offer. Initial contact was good. Caleb was my sales person. We picked out a 2016 zinger. Really excited to have our first camper and take the kids camping. Caleb told me the camper would be completely detailed with the let's go camping package. Drove another 3 hours the following weekend to pick up my camper. My kids excited as can be. Took me into finance prior to doing the final walk around to sign papers 2 hours pat the time they scheduled me. Finally after the hassle of paperwork, we did the final walk around to find out it was leaking from the fresh water tank, rat poop all over the thing, dust everywhere, dried food still on the counters. I was heated. Manager came and told me if I leave it he will make sure the work gets done and would call me Monday to schedule a time to deliver the camper. Manager called Monday and said it was being cleaned as we speak. He told me the camper will be delivered Tuesday. Camper got delivered with no keys, no let's go camping pack still as dirty as when we made our first attempt to pick it up. Camping already booked and pd for im PISSED. Text the salesman and let him know , the manager called me and offered me to pick it back up but could not promise me to have it back to me by Thursday, the day we leave. Basically told me I got a used camper and to fix the tank myself, offered me a $100 gift card, and I ended up spending 3 hours after work to clean what was supposed to already be cleaned. I'd give 0 stars if I could.
Terrible! Going to purchase a camper should be exciting and fun. The decision was quick and according to the staff and finance department my credit was outstanding enough to mention several times. Yet I would be "trapped" there for 4 more hours waiting for..... still unsure what was taking so long as they gave me several different excuses and employees to make them. The camper was not clean we have found several spiders alive all throughout and the refrigerator never work the hot and cold faucet are mislabeled. The staff let us leave without a problem but didn't give us a walk through or the information / how-to that we were told we were waiting 2 hours for. Salesman never came back to say thanks neither did anyone else. The guy opened the gate and we were off. Until 30 or 1 hour later we were called 20 plus times because they forgot to get the copy of insurance that we purchased from them. Threatened to come get the camper and when I realized I for got my welcome cart I walked in asked for it, no one said anything to me yet the next day they were back to harassing me. This place made mistake on the name of purchaser it wasn't noticed by me and the employee was not very helpful to get it fixed. I purchased 9/25 less than 1 month ago.
We visited this location yesterday because we were interested in one of their motorhomes (2018 Newmar Bay Star listed for just under $100k). The salesman (Kristian) loaded us up on a golf cart and took us to the used motorhome area. He gave us tours of the most expensive rigs and told us the one that we were interested in was 'in the back'. So after checking out those on the "front line", we still asked to see the one we were interested in, so he took us to the back row. We entered the rig and were shocked to see the horrible condition the MH was in! The interior hand rail was not secure, the furniture was in the worst condition (perling), the floor was married and damaged, the worst was the refrigerator. We opened it up and there was MOLD everywhere! When we asked why it was listed, when it was in this condition, he said they had just gotten it in and they had not had time to clean it up (again, why list it before you had cleaned and prepped it?) At that point our salesman took us to another (Allegro) to look at (which happened to be conveniently located nearby). We fell in love ❤️ with that one- only issue is was twice as much and definitely more than we were waiting to spend. When we went in, I just made the comment to see what kind of deal we could get on that rig. The salesman got the business manager to come visit with us and I guess the fact that my husband was wearing overalls, he thought we were wasting his time, because he acted like he didn't have time to bother with us and walked off. I've never seen a business treat someone like they thought we couldn't afford anything ( he would be surprised).. We left this location and will not return ( and may think twice before visiting any of their locations for that matter). I can say that the salesman was very kind( the only reason for ANY STARS). The bottom line: i felt like the entire situation was similar to the BAIT AND SWITCH scenario They advertised this really nice motorhomes only to lure you there and try to sell you another because the one you came in to deal for, is conveniently not cleaned up or ready to sell. How can they do that! I hope their corporate office looks into their tactics and addresses them accordingly . Very disgusted with what transpired..Not only shameful but definitely a poor way to run a company.
Salesman told us to purchase a trailer and then report it to insurance for hail damage. This happen on Memorial Day at the Kansas City Kansas location. Very much fraudulent behavior. We walked at last minute! Even try to give us a 500 dollar gift card if we took the camper. Do not shop from Camping World they are looking to put anyone in anything they can to move camper. Lied about payments, added tons of extra charges added. This included the salesman, financial lady and the general manager of the location.
Dropped off camper in October (yes October) for hail damage. Was told it was all done several times. Each time we had to point out all the issues . They said to bring it back and they would fix it. Each time I Dropped it off nothing got done or it would be worse than when I dropped it off. It is May now and it's still not fixed. Went to pick it up Thursday and they would not let us take the camper home for the upcoming camping trip. We had to call the police. (((Fin))) the general manager is completely unaware and unconcerned about the quality of (work) being preformed and is VERY unprofessional. Our camper is basically destroyed and we will never be able to sale camper if we wanted too. Unless you want your camper destroyed, stay away from camping world in kansas city. See you in court
It’s the people and experience we had that makes the Camping World great! We stopped in a few months ago just to look as we were downsizing campers. This is when we met Bob! He let us look around, found the one we liked and he answered all of our questions and enjoyed visiting with him. We thought all Camping Worlds would be the same, they are NOT!! Fast forward to present and we sold our camper, we stopped in to the Camping World 45 minutes from our home and was first greeted at the door with the campers are locked you will need to be escorted by a sales rep….okay we know what one we want to look at…the response, "all my sales reps are busy right now,". Myself dreading sales reps usually anyhow, and then being treated like this right at the door…I responded no problem, we will go back to Kansas City…and walked out. When I got home I located Bob Harts business card from Kansas City, KS and messaged his cell number listed on his card to confirm he would be working today. He responded yes. I called and was pleasantly greeted and advised Bob was out in the sales lot. I messaged Bob who immediately said he would call once he was back at his desk. Within minutes of talking with Bob we had a deposit on our camper and it had been flagged sold and taken back to be cleaned/detailed. Thank you KC, KS Camping World and Bob, you all are doing it right!!! Customer Focused!!!
