Had a technician(Michael) come out next day after calling sunrun, my guy figured out the problem less than a hour, fixed the issue pretty fast and made sure every thing was working properly before leaving. Technicians customer service was excellent,hooked me up with app to monitor my solar, and gave me all the information I needed concerning my solar. Awesome job.
My sister-in-law is a disabled woman in an electric wheelchair with only the use of one hand and surviving on only one income. Sunrun talked her into installing solar panels on her roof. She talked to her neighbors, three of them had solar panels on their homes and were happy with the reduction in their electric bills. After the panels were installed, the technician could not get their panel box to work properly. They have gone out several times and finally told her it was reading properly but it would take time for the electric company to start recording the change. It has been almost a year since the installation and they still have not fixed it correctly. her neighbors get a $3.00 monthly electrical bill and her monthly bill is still close to $300.00 plus the $160.00 she now pays to Sunrun for the panels. She has called Sunrun several times and they do not tell her exactly what the problem is and it takes them almost a month before they send someone out again after she complains. All they do is give her the run around and fix nothing. She lives in Valley Springs Ca but, the invoice address is in Utah not California, her automatic payments to the office in Utah are of course taken out every month like clock work.
DO NOT, I say again do not use sunrun for anything. It started when I bought a house with a vivint solar system ( also trash). Sunrun bought vivents solar contracts. The system had constant errors being sent. Sunrun never addressed them but they never missed a billing cycle even before my account had transfered to them . The transfer was finalized they put the system in my wife's name ( never asked them to do that) they then said since my wife died they can put it back in my name ....( She is still alive and making chores for me to do). Sunrun then only changed part of the contract to my name so I can pay the bill but not get information on the system. Go forward years to selling my house and I payed off the system after talking to 4 different people. I'm free from them......wait then they sent me a bill that I ignored, now the low English speaking operator tells me pay it or don't but I will be charged.....well I guess the email and the operator were wrong and now Sunrun is apologizing weeks later for the mistake. Don't use sunrun or your wife may be listed as dead but you will still be billed. I wish I could die on their books and they would then stop calling with great offers.
I built my home 23 year’s ago, I just sold it on may 9th 2025. The family that bought my home had an inspector come out and go through the home. They found out that the solar panels are not working. So I contacted sunrise, and they said yes they haven’t been working since August of 2024. You would think that someone would have contacted me and let me know. Shame on me for not looking at what was being produced. At then end of the day there is only one other company that is as corrupt as solar and that is our government. Sunrun had a 3rd party come out asset the problem and they found that the inviter was bad. The 3rd party company tried to make a warranty claim and found that my panels are registered to another person that isn’t or has nothing to do with myself or the family purchasing my home. I have had nothing but problems with the panels since day one starting with the dishonest salesperson that signed me up. (Vivint) is who worked for and they did nothing
Illegal, fraudulent, dishonest, shoddy workmanship, unethical business practices. just some of the words to describe Vivint solar. I have been lied to, given a runaround numerous times by their customer service customer service. Their solar equipment failed i requested that Vivint send out a technicia to look at their system. the Maine Power breaker on the house started tripping, cutting off the power to our house. Twice an IT specialist was sent (who admitted he did not know why) as this is an electrical problem. After contacting Vivint, I was told by there customer service agent. I would have to call an electrician at my own expense to diagnose the problems with the system. This seemed odd, as I do not own the Vivint solar system. Why would I be responsible for it's service and maintenance. Should the electrician find a problem with the solar system. i could submit the bill to Vivint; should it met their qualifications they would refund cost of electrician. Just to clarify i am an electrical engineer. so i investigated the wiring they did on my house. I noticed that the input side of the main disconnect breaker was smoking. again contacted Vivint customer service and informed them that their poor quality workmanship , corner-cutting electrical contractors, had created a unsafe potential fire Hazzard on my house. that one of the lugs on the input breaker to my house what is discolored from overheating and the insulation on the wire was charged. At this point Vivint sent out an electrician, Who then needed to completely rebuild the electrical interface from the solar panels all the way to where it interconnected to my house. necessitating the replacement of the main power panel on my house including an 8-foot ground rod. The original equipment install by the previous Vivint contractor. Was complete violation of national electrical and Fire Protection code. Even before the rebuild work was completed. I had receiving and extremely high true up energy bills. from PG&E; approximately $1,000. (true up billing, also known as netbilling, is used by solar and other power companies to estimate your energy usage when they are not able to meter it. the amount is derived from past usage with a formula only they understand.). the net billing had been going on on since before their shotty install started smoking (3+ months ) When I asked Vivint why they had not monitored their equipment to (the salesman told me it is monitored 24/7) see that it was not working. The answer I received was shocking to say the least. According to Vivian's customer service. "THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MONITORING THE EQUIPMENT." to make sure it is operational. yet there are NO INDICINDICATORS, METERS, or STATUS DISPLAYS. Installed in your home; as you woulds expect on a system that MUST BE MONITORED BY THE USER. The only method is a web account you can log on to, that gives you a relative guess of your energy usage. NO actual data on the status of the system (solar panels inverters, PG&E KW-hours used Vs power generated). after a 2 hour call with Vivint solar's customer service a manager. promised an $810 refund check would be mailed to me in the next two weeks. to defer the excessive amount i was charged for true-up billing, as of now I am currently owed over $1,000. by Vivint solar. Yet another call to Vivint's customer service I remind them of the check that was supposed to have been sent two weeks ago. was told I would need to wait yet another billing cycle. It is my opinion that Vivint solar uses carefully phrased lies and deceptive business practices. to capitalize on federal/state incentives and tax rebates for solar installation. The common terms associated with this would be, con-artist, and fraud. However by wrapping themselves in the look of an eco-friendly company, they have created the illusion that they are a customer orientated, green energy provider. This is far from the truth. They provide the worst customer service. and only would act when they put my home and life in danger.
Joni was excellent! She gave us all the information we needed to make an appointment formed decision! We love our system that was purchased through Sunrun. We live in Hawaii and have saved so much money. The service has been exceptional! From the beginning with Joni our advisor, to the installation crew and the service crew as well. Dylan was here the other day to fix a small communication link issue and he was super efficient and friendly! Every step we have taken with Sunrun has been five star. I would recommend them to anyone who wants the best service and best price for electricity!!!
I got sunrun solar panels around August 2024. At the beginning Edison electric company bill was low so I thought maybe that’s normal. I didn’t know if that was good or not since this was all new to me. Then in December my bill was around $140. Then it went up every month. I asked sunrun if they can check my solar performance and they say it was working perfectly. Then I wrote a bad review on Yelp, and then someone from customer service reached out and asks me to email her my last electric bills and i did. She never confirmed she received my bills so I sent her an email 2 weeks later telling her that sunrun solar are not working and also told her why she hasn’t responded and she said she understands my frustration and she’s working on it. Then I replied and took a screenshot of the solar usage and production and again no response. My advice to people looking into solar, show them this and all the other bad reviews and see what they tell you. Don’t get solar from sunrun and if you’re going with another company check for reviews. Also ask if you can try the solar service for a few months to see if they work for you, Because if you don’t they’ll make you sign a 20 year contract. They trapped me and lied to me so they don’t care for me anymore.
