Rouses Market

I was in Rouses today 5/10/25 at 9:00 am. I was picking up birthday cake. Cassandra in the bakery was the clerk. When I open the cake box in the bakery I was disappointed. The quality of the cake stood out. There was a crack in the middle of the cake. I will attach pictures. The cake was suppose to be round.It was leaning so it wasn't a full circle cake. Also it wasn't decorated like the picture I gave the clerk last week.I ask Cassandra why they didn't fix the cake before I picked it up. She informed me that all the cakes were the same way & there wasn't nothing they could do. She informed me I didn't have to buy it if I don't want it. In my mind I thought that wasn't great customer service. I go to the front desk to speak with a manager. Cassandra at the front apologize for the cake but she also said there wasn't nothing she could do. I am embarrass to take to my the cake to my mother in law party tomorrow. Buyer be ware in expecting quality in the bakery department. Lesson learned:(

Wow! This is so much more swanky than the Rouses in Baldwin County where I normally shop. Like all of the Rouses stores they do have a great selection of Cajun and Creole specialties from Louisiana, as well as a lot of house branded goods imported from Italy. The bakery treats are top notch here, too. I'm a big fan of their macarons and chocolate cake (although not at the same time... Usually.) If there was one complaint for this particular location it was that the produce section seemed a little small and the quality of some items like apples, bananas and sweet onions were poor. Seriously, I haven't seen such ugly sad bananas since the pandemic. Other than that, it was a great experience and I'll definitely stop in again next time I'm in the Mobile area. Oh, and they have Hubig pies from New Orleans! So glad to see them back in business and back for sale in our neck of the woods.

I love Rouses. Great selection of items. Always good sale prices especially in meat dept. Clean store. Friendly staff.

Great store, clean and had the best stuff. I don't mind paying a little extra of it means I can stay away from Walmart. Also the sushi here is pretty darn good for a grocery store. Way better than Publix if you don't have time to go to a sushi place.

1st time ever going. Super clean store..wide isles.. comfortable temperature.. handicap friendly. Friendly and helpful employees.. prices are average.. seafood and other food departments are instore. Butcher is available for cutting..However sales were real sales.. great deals on those.. I will be back..

This Rouses on Schillinger's Rd is out of way to shop at for me, but worth it. Duncan in customer service is hands down a fantastic employee, along with the other cashiers that are so sweet and helpful... it just makes me want to go back. They also make their King Cakes a couple months after Mardi Gras ends. Thank goodness bc I ordered the praline filled king cake quite a few times. They truly are the best. Shout out to Tina J in the bakery. I appreciate you being so kind and taking care of my order. All the workers deserve some praise! If I could give you more than 5 stars....I would give you 100. Keep up the great work.

This is a very good grocery store. I like their fresh fruits and vegetables! So glad they have bluberries from Wish Farms in Florida since I used to live near their and enjoy that brand so much! They also have a nice deli and bakery. They have a huge selection of adults beverages for decent prices. The store seems clean and we'll organized and check out is reasonable.
