The owner, Michael, came out to inspect our system that was previously installed and formally inspected by the city after installation. He claimed he had done calculations and that we had way too much load for our generator and that he would make some suggestions as to how to remedy the issue. That was nearly a year ago. Several phone calls and emails have all been ignored. I received numerous excuses and promises before he went completely radio silent for about the last 6 months. I would never recommend doing business with this company. They will leave you high and dry.

E&W serviced our home generator for years without issue. We missed several years and so expected a fair bit of work when we requested a maintenance visit; we were told charge would be $175/h plus parts. The service provider seemed knowledgeable. However, at completion of service they charged me an extra 1.25 hours - when I asked they said it was to cover travel time from the provider's previous location to my home. I requested a refund for that amount and was told it had to go to the owner; for the past 3 weeks I have been leaving multiple messages and emails a week with no response at all. Plus, after a maintenance visit costing $1100, I was told that the coolant still needed to be changed, which would include replacing belts, sensors and thermostats. I don't trust them, feel swindled, and am very disappointed in what had been a go to company for years.

In a nutshell, after researching and then getting estimates for a whole house generator, we visited E & W Electrical in Hillsborogh in person and ultimately went with them for a Kohler generator. I chose Kohler over Generac based on many recent reviews favoring Kohler for build quality. I expect quality work from contractors and the E & W team exceeded my expectations throughout the entire process. That rarely happens these days. The finished product is impressively professional. E & W Electrical demonstrated their genuine dedication to customer service one night when the owner came on-site and joined the installer, who had already been working all day, to assure that Duke Energy returned to complete the power connection we had all been waiting for since about noon. This issue was entirely beyond E & W Electrical's control but they stayed until Duke Energy completed their work and reconnected our power around 7:45 pm.

E&W installed my generator about 1 1/2 year ago and did a fantastic job. The service tech just left a little while ago after completing a maintenance inspection. I must say he treated my unit as if it was his own, front to back, top to bottom, checking everything. Everything from first conversation has been absolutely top shelve.

They just finished with the installation of a 20kw generator for me. This is the fourth house I’ve had this done and I have to say that nobody does it as well as these guys. They communicate really well. They show up when they say they will. They stay on top of the job until it is done. And most importantly, the quality of the work is excellent. Nobody I have used before has ever been so thoughtful with the installation and load management. On top of it all, they take the time to do a full orientation and walk through of the equipment to make sure you are comfortable before walking away.

If you want to do it right use these folks to get it right the first time. We looked at and priced four companies for a 20kw whole house generator. I learned a lot during the process. I also learned a lot about what several of the other companies didn't know. E & W are specialists and it was clear from our first conversation. They have installed over 3,000 generators and it shows. Also, they were neither the most expensive nor the cheapest, but I do believe we selected the best. They are professional, they showed up on time (all of the time as the installation was done over the course of 5 different visits due to work required by the gas vendor and the building inspectors which they coordinated on our behalf). They did a thorough job on training us and they offer an annual maintenance program to ensure the generator is serviced and tested annually. They have a 24/7 response line in case of emergency. We are all set whereby the generator is connected to our email so we receive notifications that the actual weekly scheduled test is taking place and if anything needs attention. Unlike some other reviews online we didn't ask them to fix someone else’s installation. They just got it right the first time. I would highly recommend you put them in your consideration set if you are looking for a professional whole house generator installation. We sure are glad we did.

E&W installed and maintained a Kohler generator and a Tesla charger for me at two different homes. I've used them over a period of several years and they have always been honest and professional and their work is thorough and clean. I will always use them for electrical work - highly recommended.
