Customer Reviews
Wilson Home Repair has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 17 reviews on Google
Wilson Plumbing and Heating was once a dependable company offering excellent service and fair pricing; however, this seems to have drastically changed. As of today, October 25, 2024, our scheduled appointment—made two months ago—was canceled last minute and rescheduled for a month later, November 25, without prior consultation. This is now the third occurrence, with previous appointments either canceled or missed entirely. We subscribed to their monthly home warranty membership, only to find it ineffective, leading us to cancel after repeated service issues. Based on our experience, we advise others to exercise caution when considering The New Wilson Plumbing and Heating. What was once an amazing business has turned into a nightmare and I see that others are having the same experiences!
STAY AWAY! I'm a Realtor, and I will never recommend or use this company again - AND I gave them FOUR chances to make things right. These guys WERE great until I had an issue, then they disappeared AFTER they took my money! I have 3 young kids and my furnace broke. I called Wilson and they said an $89 service fee - fine. They came out on time, they were very friendly and explained the heating sensor needed replacing AND the pressure value has gone bad AND likley the motherboard too. They quoted me $250/hour - but I have 3 kids, so I signed off on the work. One hour later, they said the heating sensor wasn't working and they could call in another technician to go over pricing with me on "my options". 2 hours later, Bob shows up at the house, and he's very nice and seems knowledgeable. He explains a new motherboard is likely needed for a short term fix around $900, but the $310 I spent can be applied OR... a NEW furnace can be installed, "normally $9,000", but for me, they'll do the install and some other recommended work for $7,200. Also, 18 months no payments or interest. I'm seriously thinking about it... He tells me I need to let him know in 1 hour, because there's only 1 slot available on Friday (next day) and they don't do installs on the weekend. It's getting colder out, and I have 3 young kids so I tell him I'll let him know ASAP. I got a hold of my contractor friend who puts me in touch with another HVAC expert and this guy comes to my home, tells me the furnace is FINE, the pressure value is FINE, Wilson put in the WRONG SIZED flame sensor and for a new motherboard and flame sensor, it would be $450. He came out the next day, $450 and 1-hour later, I have heat. I called Wilson on Friday morning explaining I wanted to talk to someone about a partial refund. Sure, the $89 service call is on me. Yes, the guys did some work, okay... but they were wrong on the pressure value and had the wrong sized flame sensor.... I mean... it FEELS like a HUGE upsell.... No call back from Wilson to discuss things. I called Friday afternoon... No call back to discuss things. I called Saturday.... No call back to discuss things. I called Monday morning and spoke to a lovely woman who said McKenzie is who I need to speak to. I explained everyone is nice, the "Service Guarantee" on their phone recording SOUNDS convincing and I need someone to talk to about SOME resolution. The woman understood and said she would have someone call me.... NOTHING. How many chances can you give a company? I'm sure had I bought a new furnace, and hadn't been the wiser, I would have been very happy with it... there's heat! People make mistakes, I get it.... but it feels like I got screwed. And on top of it, after four attempts to clarify/remedy the situation, I was ignored. Hence this review. SUMMARY => AVOID. If you DO use them, GET ANOTHER QUOTE/INSPECTION!
We've had clogs off and on in one bathroom for a long time and had several other plumbing problems with our late 60s house. But we've been searching for a good, reliable plumber for a few years. When we needed a drain cut into our basement floor, I found Wilson's by on-line recommendations and gave them a try. The results were so good that we presented them with a laundry list of jobs. They did work on a kitchen sink, a half bath, my wife's bathroom re-plumb, and had Jason handle some stack repair, bathroom floor and baseboard replacement and drywall replacement. We're really pleased with Wilson's. Their work is professional and timely, their workers are polite and friendly, and their estimates are clear and complete. We've found our plumbers.
I called Wilson's because the siding blew off my garage this morning during a high wind event. They were one of three that I called they are the only ones who called me back today not only that they gave me a time like 2 in the afternoon but they ended up coming at 11 which I was really thankful for it because it's raining and there's rain getting inside my garage where you know siding should he so quoted me to prices for a real quick fix and a fix that should hold for a long time and being a fan of Mike Holmes we decided just do it right the first time. so it took three or four hours but they were able to seal the garage in today and put the siding on I was so impressed not only did they give me options on what to do they were able to get it done today! same day that it happened I was very pleased they were so professional and they were ready to listen to you as you had questions or if you had I had other things in the house I wanted to check out since I found out that they pretty much can do any type of household repair a couple leaks I have on my roof so I had them look at that and I'm expecting it an estimate soon but the fact that he was able to look at that with me was awesome because we've been needing to get at least the one over the sink repaired quickly and then we just got a new leak this weekend and we were like so what do we do now so I'm so glad I found wilson's place today I will be using them more as time goes on I couldn't be happier these guys will do youright these this is the one of the best places I've had to deal with that do handyman repairs and such a reasonable price.
The service staff was very efficient and dealt with my concerns in a professional and timely fashion. I would recommend this agency to others in the community who are requesting an estimate for home repair and potential services. I am satisfied with their services and have engaged in contacting them twice in the past with positive results. Thanks you.
Came early, which was a plus. Great work and attention to detail rehanging the shutters on our house. Also followed great social distance and mask guidelines. Would gladly have them back if needed!!
Calef to inquire about various odd jobs including installing gutter screens. Was told they do not install gutter s s screens. It's weird that they can clean gutters but won't install the s screens. Will not recommend
