Customer Reviews
Power Center has a rating of 2.7 out of 5 based on over 183 reviews on Google
Several weeks ago I purchased a Kohler carburetor and "spacer" for my Toro 22 inch recycler mower from the Power Center in Ft Lauderdale. The "spacer" was not in stock and had to be ordered from Toro. Sylvia at the front counter placed the order and let me know it could take awhile to get the part but would call me as soon as it was delivered. Over the next month we kept in touch but it became apparent the part wasn't going to get there anytime soon. I am very realistic about delivery expectations from these large companies knowing the local dealer is pretty much at their mercy. This afternoon I spoke with Angel, and after reviewing the order he sympathetic and volunteered to take the part off a new mower he had sitting in inventory to resolve my issue. Throughout this process I found Sylvia and Angel to be very customer friendly and professional, and can highly recommend them to anyone in need of sales, parts or service related to residential / commercial outdoor power equipment. Keep up the good work!!! John Pompano Beach
I called today to inquire about the status of the mower that has been with them for three weeks, with no updates. When the older guy with glasses and a bald spot answered he was very rude. He actually hung the phone on me. He was very nasty. Very unprofessional and avoid this place at all costs.
My experience at Power Center has been phenomenal! They’re honest, fair, and reliable! Their customer service and support is top notch and they make you feel like family! I recommend them for all of your landscaping service needs! Precision Cuts Lawn Maintenance and Care LLC
I’ve been going to Power Center for almost 30 years. We used to live in sailboat band right around the corner and now live in Flagler Village and still prefer going to Power Center Instead of big box stores and other well-Known local lawn service and engine repair stores. The customer service is always very personable, courteous and professional. The staff are very knowledgeable and eager to assist. It is a very popular store because the quality of service is impeccable and because of this, there may sometimes be a bit of a wait for service. It’s OK, it’s worth waiting a little longer to make sure that you’re getting the highest quality equipment and the best customer service. No one can go wrong with patronizing Power Center!
Avoid Power Center Fort Lauderdale at All Costs – Buyer Beware In April 2025, I purchased over $2,400 worth of equipment from Power Center Fort Lauderdale, including a power washer ($1,782), surface cleaner ($449), and a spray nozzle ($99), plus an unexplained $150 miscellaneous charge. I used my TD Yard Card for the purchase. While I left the store with everything except the nozzle (which they said needed to be ordered and would arrive in two weeks), the nightmare began from there. One month passed with no update. I called – they said it was on backorder. Two weeks later, still nothing. For three months, I followed up repeatedly. No apology, no accountability, just excuses. Keep in mind, this nozzle is something I could have ordered on Amazon and had in two days. I chose to support a local business instead. That was my mistake. Finally, they said the nozzle had arrived. When I went to pick it up, I was told I had a balance due—over $200 more. I showed them my receipt, payment confirmation, and even my TD Yard Card account page showing I was charged the agreed-upon amount. The owner, lacking even basic understanding of business transactions, insisted I had to pay the difference due to some merchant funding shortfall. Let’s be clear: merchant processing issues are not the customer’s problem. I called TD Yard Card customer service on speakerphone in front of the employee. They confirmed this was a merchant issue and instructed Power Center to call merchant services. Even after hearing this directly, the store doubled down, claiming it was my responsibility to resolve. The owner then told me that by law I had to pay the full invoice amount regardless of what was funded. That’s not only inaccurate—it’s absurd. He refused to release the nozzle unless I paid more than what was agreed. When I refused and attempted to leave with the product I rightfully paid for, he chased me outside, came onto my trailer full of landscaping gear, grabbed my backpack blower without permission, broke my sprayer wand in the process, and ran back inside, locking the gate behind him. Yes—he stole my equipment. I had to call the police. When the officer arrived and heard both sides, she confirmed that: • I had paid in full. • The merchant fee discrepancy was not my responsibility. • The owner’s actions were borderline criminal, and he could be charged with burglary for stealing the blower from my trailer. He ultimately returned my blower, but denied breaking the wand—despite having done so in front of me and the officer. The officer even gave me a case number should I choose to pursue charges. Let this be a warning: Power Center Fort Lauderdale is not a trustworthy business. They are disorganized, dishonest, and completely lacking in professionalism. The owner has no clue how to handle disputes or treat customers, and clearly believes intimidation is a legitimate business tactic. I had previously spent over $10,000 with this store—including a commercial lawn mower—and still got treated like garbage. They’ve permanently lost my business, and I’ll make it my mission to ensure others don’t get caught in this same trap. Spend your money where it’s respected. Power Center is not that place.
DO NOT COME HERE! My fater dropped off his lawn mower to et fixed for a week now and still no parts were fixed! When he went to the shop to question whether or not it was ready, the BOSSS spazzed and cursed him out ! He has the recording saying that no parts are available! One of the workers in the building pulled my dad to the side and let him know that it was purchased and reached the shop they just pushed his to the side. My dad was charged 33.00 for services that he did not receive and when he asked for the refund he was only gave 3.48 back! They are also racist saying people like my father , we are black Haitian people snd he is WHITE, bring his conpany down ! I will be reporting this company !
Horrible company! Owner, Angel, is rude, lazy, condescending, and disrespectful. Went there for a new ignition coil for the Briggs & Stratton engine on my Snapper lawn mower. I brought the old one with me along with pictures of the model and serial number of the mower. Was told I needed the model of the B&S engine itself, which is readily available if he cared enough to look it up through the Snapper database. Plus, they had serviced this mower themselves in the past. Maybe they'd have it on file? Frustrated, I went home and loaded the mower into my truck and drove it over there. Wheeled it in and said "here you go". He acted like I wasn't just there 15 minutes prior. How can I help you? I had to explain again that I needed a new ignition coil. He reluctantly came out from behind the counter and spends 10 seconds looking at it then has someone from the back take it into the shop. 10 minutes later, the guy comes back, mutters something in Spanish, then tells me, with a disrespectful smirk on his face, that the part is obsolete and no longer available. No offer to try and help find a replacement or anything. Just sorry, you're out of luck. Then he has the nerve to ask me if there was anything else he could "help" me with. I realize this sounds like a fairly ordinary interaction but it was his attitude about it that pisses me off. I've been going here for 20+ years. It was so much better under the previous ownership.
