Lucas was exceptional to work with - he was knowledgeable, experienced, friendly, and fast! He had a list of items to install and replace/repair at my home - he immediately started working when he arrived and didn’t stop until he did a final walk-through with me. He answered all of my questions and was a pleasure to have in my home for the day! Everything has been perfect since he completed his work for me and I would highly recommend him - I know that I’ll be requesting him for my future maintenance needs!
I have been a customer with 72 Degrees since 2005. I have never had any issues until Holt took over. They don’t give you a time frame for an appointment and require you to take a whole day off of work. I have a maintenance agreement and scheduled my AC check. A whole day waisted when I was on PTO restriction. Got a call my service agent was sick and no one would make it. This would push my appt out two months. This is not doable. I understand people get sick but when you require me to take a whole day off, you are going to work with me. They sent a tech who I don’t feel knew what he was doing. He was here 2.5 hours. When normally it takes less than a hour. Today, again, sitting waiting for my furnace maintenance. A whole day off, needing to leave town. All the reviews, we will make it right. Hmmmm, right. They scheduled me 8am to 12pm. Here I am sitting. I call to inquire and am told that they cannot guarantee a time, but it will be sometime today. It depends on the jobs. The schedule updates every 2-10 minutes. The woman who answered said the appointment time is technically 8-4pm. I said you sent a text to confirm 8-12. As I am writing this, I get a call from a number, half rings then disconnects. I call it back and it goes to 72/Holt. I am told that a tech tried to call. I said they hung up. She said they are on their way. I confirmed again my time. She said the arrival is 8-12 so he is only a few minutes late and offered to cancel. I understand if this was one offs but the scheduling seems to be a trend with them from the reviews. The same responses. This company needs to read the reviews and change how they do business.
I recently had my furnace and AC replaced by 72 degrees/Holt. We lost our AC on the hottest day of the year and they were able to send their techs out same day. Since our units were already 14 years old and would need pretty significant repairs, we decided replacing was going to be more cost effective. I like that they had the prices clearly listed out with different packages, depending on your wants/needs, simple financing options, and discounts for paying upfront. They were patient with our questions and I didn’t feel like they were trying to sell me on products I didn’t need. Luke, Micki, and Matt were all extremely professional and did the job beautifully. They took something that was extremely frustrating and made it feel easy!
Was a customer of 72 Degrees since 1991. Then Holt bought the company. After the purchase, I never had issues with the Techs, they seem to be fine still. My biggest complaint about Holt is that their scheduling for people on their annual maintenance plan is horrible. They give you a whole day as an estimate for the appointment. Not a 2 or even 4 hour window. A whole day. I had experiences where I wouldn't get a call from the tech until 3pm, to be at our house by 4pm. Another day shot waiting for Holt. At times, I would try to call in to validate if anyone was coming or when they would be and I'd be connected to a national call center in god knows where. The scheduling experience could not be more negative and horrible than the great experience I had before 72 Degrees was sold to Holt. I moved my business to Lozier. Local people. People you can talk to that are actually in the Des Moines area and most importantly, a time range for an appointment in hours, not a full wasted day.
I had Dylan come out to square away my sink, I bought the wrong things and didnt really know what I was doing. He educated me on why the things I bought, while serviceable, could have become problematic with very simple rational, and provided the right solution at a great price. In and out in under an hour! Outstanding!
Luke completed a very thorough inspection of not only our furnace, but also the HEPA filtration system and inquired about our in-floor heating set-up. He was the first technical from any company who has done our HVAC system check to not only inquire about our in-floor heating set-up, but also checked the HEPA filtration system, researched a new pre-filter, and vacuumed out the HEPA old filter until we could get one in after it was backordered. With this level of detail, we look forward to Holt, and specifically Luke, to complete future HVAC system checks, knowing the chances of something going wrong will be caught before it does go wrong with detail and curiosity like Luke has.
They came out to fix our A/C that stopped working. The time frame they give you is an all day time frame in which they say they will keep you updated but do not. They have been out to our home 3 times now- the first person said there was a leak and someone else would have to come fix it. He explained that they would drain the Freon, add some stuff into the pipes to find the leak, hopefully fix the leak and add more coolant. Before he left, he added in coolant to last us until the next person could come out. We paid for this coolant and we’re supposed to get it credited from what they add during the leak repair. Next visit the guy comes out, explains he can’t guarantee they will find where the leak is but they will try. He finds a leak, continues searching inside and outside of the home to make sure no other leaks present. Finds nothing else, fixes leak and we think everything is good. A week later, the same issue happens. We call again, the second guy comes out and says he didn’t add more coolant when he came out and hopes that’s all that is needed. He finds another leak, harder to repair- needs a part that they will order but it’s in DSM area and will hopefully come in before we run out of coolant again. We call during the week to see if the part has come in. They don’t have tracking details or know when the part will be in. - they are at the mercy of the vendor. Week later, AC is fortunately running but is not cooling. Call after hours and they apologize and say someone from dispatch will call us this evening to try to come out. Now waiting for them to call but highly unlikely they call this evening. Save yourself the headache and call anyone else for AC repairs.
