I reached out to Alex from Tanous late last night around 11 PM when my AC suddenly gave out. After doing a ton of research and reading reviews, I was looking for an honest, reliable company—and that’s exactly what I found. Alex was amazing. Two of his techs showed up right at 10 AM this morning, just like he said they would, and got straight to work. Nicola the lead tech knew his stuff from the second he got here. They diagnosed the issue, went out to Montclair to pick up the exact part needed, and came back on time—to the minute. The repair took exactly how long they said it would, and my AC was back up and running within hours. Alex took the time to walk me through everything—what happened, what they were fixing, and what I should keep an eye on going forward. The price was very fair and there were no surprises AT ALL - WHICH IS SHOCKING TO BE HONEST. Guy treats you like family. I’ve already shared his number with neighbors and our community group. I wish every service experience was like this. Now I understand why they have so many great reviews. Alex is the man. I’m extremely grateful. Thank you guys very much!

Our HVAC was going through it this past summer and as frustrating as the process was between having no AC, waiting for warranty and parts to come in and multiple visits (which the company continued to prioritize us and get us on their already busy schedule), this company truly went ABOVE AND BEYONDD each time to make sure our unit was fixed!!! Great people! The owner and his team are exceptional! They truly care about their clients and we are so thankful for this company!

I had the most amazing experience with Tanous. I can’t thank them enough for helping me deal with such a stressful situation when the HVAC at my condo unit in Hoboken, NJ stopped working. I would highly recommend Tanous. They are one of the very few honest HVAC companies who truly will put their clients first - that is true customer service! Read further for more details: The best way to highlight how good they are is by comparing what a bad HVAC company is and what a good HVAC company like Tanous is. I had a different HVAC company who did preventative maintenance on my HVAC not too long ago and said everything was working well. Less than a month later, it stopped working, so this bad HVAC company diagnosed it. However they couldn’t figure out what was wrong and just wanted me to pay them $10,000 for a brand new equipment. When I asked them what was broken their response was "I don’t know but you’re better off with a new one so you don’t have to deal with these issues." They want to replace the HVAC even without knowing what was broken! Tanous was completely different. Johnny T, the technician is very knowledgeable and will explain the issue and solutions to you very clearly. He did multiple tests on the HVAC and was able to identify the source of the problem. When they offered pricing for the replacement, it was also a lot less than the competitor. Alex, the owner, was also very understanding and considerate of his customers. He clearly said that he’d rather fix the issue if he can than have to replace the unit, which will cost the customer more money. Replacement is only an option if the unit is truly broken and if they’ve identified what is broken. At the end, no replacement was needed (saving me thousands of dollars) because Johnny T and Tanous was able to diagnose the issue correctly and fix it.

I had Tanous install a new mini split heat pump system in my home and it works great! Mike was very helpful on the initial walkthrough and answered all my questions, and he remained responsive until the job was complete. All of his team was great, but I want to shoutout Johan specifically--ask for him if you have anything installed because he will go above and beyond! Overall very happy.

Only giving one star as I can't give an "absolutely avoid this business" rating. Earlier this year, a tech came out to service our unit and the tech was completely unknowledgeable about how AC units work, and then left after 5min of being here because I called him out--on his way out slammed the door without even telling me he was leaving-- This is the second time they have been scheduled to come out and have us a time frame of 8-11am--I am writing this review at 10:45 of the same day we scheduled and they have not even called or communicated they will be late. They are incredibly disrespectful of time and customers and I would recommend that if you have ANY different option you choose quite literally ANY other option

Very prompt and professional. We had issues with our system during a state wide heatwave. They came out promptly and fixed the system. We have also used their services for a new water heater and hvac which were priced the best overall. Professional installation with speedy follow up.

Highly recommend Tanous. They are able to identify creative solutions tailored to you. We had a unique scenario where our air conditioning was not a sufficient size to cool our condo effectively and sat inside a room with very little space. Tanous figured out an innovative solution factoring in our ducting and air circulation that has allowed us to almost double our cooling capacity and resolve the issue with minimal changes and no construction work required.
