Bill Leary Air Conditioning & Heating

My 14 year old Goodman furnace decided to stop on Sunday. Thankfully I have the maintenance plan with Bill Leary Heating & Air Conditioning (BLHAC hereafter). Allen (senior tech) came out at 9pm and diagnosed. We collectively decided that investing in new parts wouldn't be worthwhile long term, so I chose to go with a new furnace. Prior to BLHAC visiting, I did shop around, considering an AJ Perri Ruud Furnace. While Ruud have great reviews for their quality of build, I opted for Goodman again purely because all furnaces break at some point and parts are just easier to get for Goodman (Made in America etc.). Allen negotiated down his price from 9500$ however the price was still above the typical national range. I needed install + minor duct and gas mods. Allen did increase my labour warranty and handled the permits, which compensated greatly for this. I was traveling abroad at 7am on Tuesday, so I expressed to Allen that we would need to get the job done no later than 5pm on Monday. Allen and his team shuffled things and sure enough 4 techs were at my door at 9am. Ryan, Kenny, Nelson, Edison all worked diligently through the day to complete my job by 5pm. Ryan is one of BLHAC's top employees and super knowledgeable. He spared no detail in installation, testing and commissioning. He discovered a pipe leakage during testing and completely reworked the pipework for over an hour, to get everything just perfect. I really appreciated his attention to detail and how he managed his team. The team came well equipped with their tools, shoe covers, drop cloths etc. and respected my newly renovated home. They performed pipework, gas work, sheet metal work and tidied up the old install. Everyone was very friendly and willing to answer any questions. The installation came out as best as I could have hoped for. The new furnace is now more efficient, right-sized, heating my house much faster, quieter and most of all cleaner looking. The team even helped me to use some steel wool to plug a hole where my condensate pipe drained - as recently mice have been emerging from that hole, from the floor void ! Furthermore they tuned my water heater and showed me how to put it in "vacation mode". Very valuable info and comforting to know the water heater was serviced too. Talk about going the extra mile! If I had to give some points for improvement (we can all improve), it would be the following: - home owners need to be aware that techs may need to sling the air-con from the ceiling to be able to replace the furnace. Expect scuffing and holes after all is done. I'm very particular about my home, so I got to cleaning, filling and painting the ceiling after they left. This might be something BLHAC can advise customers of in advance of the works. Ceiling is brand new again - all is well that ends well 🙂 - my warranty statement could have been more legibly written, especially given that my warranty was extended beyond the norm. Legibility leads to clarity and avoids ambiguity in years to come Allen! I'll be reaching out to the office to make sure all is properly stated in my file - drip pan could have been washed down after, but I took care of that easy enough ________________ Overall exceptionally satisfied with the product, install, testing, commissioning, warranty, professionalism, willingness to help and urgency shown due to my travel. Thank you to the entire BLHAC team that worked on this project. I can go on holiday with peace of mind. I've got the maintenance plan as I mentioned, so I'll be seeing BLHAC in April for my AC tune-up ahead of summer! The plan has consistently proven worthwhile since I've been a home owner. Choose BLHAC for your home and you will be satisfied !

From start to finish, I appreciate the diligence and attention to detail by Anthony, AJ, Terry, Oz and the crew. The Sr. Tech Allen was also a pleasure to work with. I couldn’t believe how fast they were able to make this work. Less than 48 hours from call to install in the middle of July. Thank you very much!

Anthony is professional, polite, explained things along the way: Why there’s a need to replace the old electric panel which would cost $7,000. Anthony and Allen spent many hours patiently, went through each breaker and the wirings in the sauna temperature attic. At the end , only need to upgrade one breaker, saving me $3,500. Anthony and the whole team did a good job. He informed to me about draining the pipe annually which I never knew. It’s expected to be one day turned out to be two which I don’t mind. As long as they take their time to complete the project.

Jake was great helping us navigate what turned out to be a MUCH bigger project than we anticipated! Shawn Breen was an amazing team leader...very long day (into the night!) but he wasn't leaving until we had both heat and hot water, and the rest of his team was terrific. I would recommend Bill Leary to anyone who needs prompt, professional heating and a/c service.

I had a fantastic experience with Justin today! He reconnected our whole house humidifier, which had been disconnected by the previous owner, and quickly diagnosed that the humidifier fan blower motor wasn’t engaging even though it was receiving power. He explained everything clearly and was extremely knowledgeable, patient with all my questions, and very informative throughout the visit. I’m highly satisfied with the service and would definitely recommend him to others!
