Mac 5 was very quick to provide us a quote for a water heater and upgrading the circuit for it. Anthony was back the next day to complete the circuit upgrade and did a great job. Update: after the circuit upgrade we had Mac 5 install a water heater for us. They were very accommodating with our schedule. Howard did an excellent job with the installation and was very friendly.

Mike did a great job diagnosing the problem when my A/C went out. He came out the same day and did a thorough job taking pictures and explaining what he found. He was able to fix it for us quickly and gave us a lot of information for the future. I’ve used this company twice and had good experiences so far.

I had MAC 5 install a water softener on January 22, 2025, and my experience with them has been frustrating from start to finish. First, during the site survey, the technician should have noticed that there was no power drop where the softener needed to go. They neither installed one nor informed me that I needed to hire an electrician, leaving me to rely on an extension cord. Second, the technician did not bring any salt during installation, which meant he didn’t test the system for leaks or ensure it was working properly. I had to buy salt myself that evening and figure out how to program the system on my own—something I would have expected the technician to walk me through. Later, I suspected that the softener wasn’t working because the salt level wasn’t going down. When I checked, I found that the unit had been left in bypass mode since installation, meaning it had done absolutely nothing for over a month. When I attempted to take it out of bypass, it began leaking heavily and tripped the breaker, forcing me to leave it in bypass mode and wait for a fix. To make matters worse, I identified the issue over the weekend, but MAC 5 couldn’t send anyone until Monday afternoon to fix it. While Tony, the technician, did come back out and resolve the leak, another plumber working inside my house pointed out that MAC 5 had not routed the PVC properly and that they should have leveled the ground underneath the softener—something they failed to do. Given these oversights, the lack of attention to detail, and the delays in getting the system working properly, I won’t be using MAC 5’s services again. I expected far better for the money I spent.

Their name comes up first when you google search but beware! They said they would be there between 12-3, at 11 someone called, verified and check with the tech for time and I was told a little after lunch and at 1:30 I called to check, guess what definitely not until after 3 and when I challenged that they called me back and said sorry but we can’t make it all, call Frank Gay! Who does that? I assume they are so big that they don’t need my little business, BEWARE!

The only reason I give this company two stars in because they where prompt, nice and did do the job. My issue is price gouging. $20 retail worth of parts and a job that I, not being a plumber, could do in less than 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I was not in town. The bill was $524. look at the pics and decide for yourself. I have owned businesses and know there is overhead, but come on. The pics are before and after. Nothing wrong with the work, just the fairness of the price.
